Welcome, nice to have a new member on board. What do you mean why is there tribes? We've been a tribal people and lived in tribal society since ancient times. If you mean people of Kurdistan, I think most people are urbanized, but of course still retain tribal names.

Every nation is made of tribes and this is nothing to be ashamed of :D . Also, we might as well call it families instead of tribes, because like in america there are 5 familes who are very important and they are billionaires. Same in Britain there are important families(tribes).

Welcome to Roj Bash heval Kure Kurda

My mother used to say : Je vere heta mala Xodi dest le ser dest heya .
So this is the case everywhere in the world where some tribes or individuals have more power than the others .

Thanks :D
When i mean tribes i mean like in zaxo we have 3 to 4 "families" or "tribes" who is like around 1000 people in it and everybody is relative or some how have belongs together, my tribe is called Cheriki.
Serok Barzani have a Tribe the "Barzani Tribe"
So i just wondered if its something normal

Sorry for my bad explaining :D

:D iam no ashamed about this but i was thinking if everybody is sticking to one group and is hating each other and just getting married in the family the kurdish people will become dumber and dumber and will hate each other even more.
This will in the long term make it even harder to unit a the great kurdistan :(

welcome to RBK.
i am also against tribe "nationalism" (Not sure what thats called).
Kurds should be loyal to KURDISTAN,not their tribe. we are all kurds, after all.
Its tribal hate towards fellow kurds that have put us in this mess now.

Tribal nationalism has nothing to do with "hating other tribes", it is based on perserving your tribe and tribal name. Whilst being able to intergrate into the larger Kurdish society, I don't see anything wrong it in. I don't know why people don't take pride in their tribe.
