GoodMorning...

PostAuthor: Nissan » Thu Jul 27, 2006 6:29 am

Good morning , it's 9.00 now and I'm at my office having tea and reading your replies...
Yes, I'm from western Kurdistan from Even, and I am a female, but I do not know kurdish language because i lived abroad all of my life and my parents did not teach me... but i'm really trying to learn it...
I'm studing in the university and this is my last year..
I really lived out of my unique Kurdish Origins and I'm really trying hard to not be out of this uniqueness and the place I belong to, It's not my fault and my job now is to mend it... I was thrilled when I saw this site it will help me to know more about my culture and my real identity..
Tell me about each one of you, where do you live and what you do in life..

Goodmorning Dyaoko, well Kurds in western Kurdistan mainly exist in two areas, Afrin and what surrounds it till turky and Qamishlo near Iraq border...
But the Kurds in Qamishlo suffers more, cause the majority are poor (their lands took from them befor 30 years ago), many of them do not have identities or any paper as citizens, and they are surrounded with the worst of Arabs... These problems do exist between Afrinian Kurds but in few cases, they are many, they have their lands and most of them have identities, and somehow are far from a large arabic aggregation...
The Kurdish language there contains some of arabic words but it is more noticed in the afrinian kurdish language than Qamishlo, yet their is large diffrence between the two...
Then there is the Kurds who lived for a long time in Damascus, most of the old ones belong to the Kurdish territories in turky but recently there was many Kurds came to Damas ( especially Qamishlo) to work and study

I did not saw Rojhelat befor, so I guess i cannot answer you about that. :?

by the way what's the meaning of Dyaoko :)

thanx for answers , in east , there is the same problem the poorer the region the better the kurdish language is spoken, it seems ocuppiers give More Chance to assimulated Kurds to live.
Dyaoko was the first king of Medes, in Medya Empire .

how do the majority of arabs feel about Kurds in syria? and another question , do they censor some internet sites in syria ? are syrian kurds, pro pkk ? or they like puk kdp more ?

and another question , are there some syrian kurds, who feel more syrian than real syrians ?

well, some Arab acts like Kurds do not exict, ignoring their rights and their culture, and denay the Kurdish nationalism as an independent one, even say that there is not such a thing called a Kurdish nationalism...
But there is few who admit that we have rights and we should practice our culture and use our language and even have a country of our own, but most of these arab are Palestenians....

Kurdish Internet sites are forbidden especially if it is in Kurdish language, there are sites for Afrin in Arabic, but it is more for tourism purpeses, and most places they talk about are roman and few Kurdish, at the same time there are hundred of vestigial kurdish places islamic and Yazidi brushed aside or banned to erase it.
as for Qamislo i did not find one, maybe they are forbidden too, it was a miracle that I found this one...

closer villages from turky more kurds are pkk, but i think most kurds here are pkk, few puk or kdp..

And yes unfortunatlly there is kurds who are more Syrian than Syrian themselves, after all, they have gained so much for their treason...Losers..

What do Kurds in Syria (West-Kurdistan) think of Öcalan's cooperation with Assad in the past??
The suppression of ethnic cultures and minority religious groups in attempting to forge a modern nation were not unique to Turkey but occurred in very similar ways in its European neighbours - Bruinessen.
