I'm happy being English thanks as we have lots of goodness about our culture too Muslim first then English with a bit of Kurdish knowledge too, inshAllah But Kurdish history is much more interesting than ours I have to say.

Ne, min Inglizîm (if your wife is from Southern Kurdistan (if she speaks Soranî)) and
Ne, ez Inglizî me (if you wife is from Northern Kurdistan (if she speaks Kurmancî))

its must be confusing for umm ali to learn to ways of kurdish saying i am from kurdistan

I'm already getting confused - I'm a sister ..... its my husband that is Kurdish (seems to be a lot of it on this board!) I reverted to Islam before I even met my husband though etc so everything was done islamically ie, no relationship prior to marriage etc. Alhamduillah.

Which city is your husband from, sister?

Salaams, don't be silly its fine My baby is called Ali - he's actually nearly two though now and its hard to keep an eye on him!

My husband was born in Bagdad but his family are originally from Khanaquin but moved to Suleymania where he grew up when he was about ten I think. He speaks fluent Arabic, also Suleymania Kurdish and Khaniquini dialect of Kurdish which is quite different I think.
