Hello friends,

My name is Vrezh, I'm an Armenian from Souther California. I fully support creation of Kurdistan as an independent nation. I am also here trying to find my relatives among Kurdish people, I am hoping that by some miracle I maybe able to do it.
My grandparents originated in Urfa and had 7 children at the start of the massacres. The 6 younger ones perished, but the eldest, a redheaded boy named Hagop was saved taken by a Kurdish chief who promised to raise him as his own son. My father tells me that in the 1940s a caravan came to Rayak, Lebanon with lots of supplies as a gift to my grandfather from his lost son, by that time he became the chief of a Kurdish tribe in Syria. Unfortunately my family never got to meet their long lost son in person, because they migrated to Armenia in 1946. I'm assuming that my lost uncle has passed away by now, but I'm also hoping that he had a large family and now I have many Kurdish cousins. My grandmother also told me that the boy was carrying the family book listing all of our ancestors going back 2000 years, it would be a true miracle to find it. I would really appreciate any help you can give me locating my Kurdish cousins.

Thank You

Hello Vrezh,

I'm Irish, but from Southern California as well. I'm also for independence of Kurdistan.
Also the Turkish government needs to stop denying the genocide and give Armenians their land back too. I hope someone here can help you find your cousins.

Vrezh jan - welcome so much to Roj Bash Kurdistan! :D

It's realy fantastic to have you here!

I've been away from Roj Bash for 2 weeks now (study trip to the UK) and meanwhile, an Armenian, a Greek and a Kashmiri have joined - all very dear people... Bless you all for finding your ways over to Roj Bash! :D

Thank you very much for your kind words, Vrezh - and may the Armenian Genocide be recognized world wide and the harm compensated... Although I don't believe one can ever compensate the lives of 1.5 million individuals... :( God bless them - every single one...

I am Sohrab (you have that name in Armenian too, I know :) ) - and I'm a student, based in Norway...

Hope you peek in every now and then - and add that little bit extra flavour to our discussions...

Hayastan and Kurdistan - brotherhood has no borders... :)

No problem :)

I've studied Middle East Studies for two years (University of Bergen) - subjects such as history, religion, archeology, social-anthropology + languages: Arabic and Hebrew...

Now I'm working on a bachlor degree in "Society, Language and Culture" - this is my first year... I've still got a load to go - but I've also been studying for a long time...

I wish to do research on Middle Eastern languages, cultures, history and societies...

May I ask what you do in California? :) From what some other Armenian brothers on the net have told me, California is full of Armenians? :)

Sohrab,

You sure will have your hands full with Middle East studies.

I'm an Engineering Designer, artist, inventor.

California has a very large Armenian community, it is getting close to 1 million.
