Ava IS a girl name yess..but it's not kurdish so, thats maybe why it sounds like a mans name or something. And actually I don't come from Duhok. I'm from Zaxo.

Ava - your name is Kurdish! ;)

Ava or Awa (depending on prenounciation- which again depends of dialect) means "To end" or "Finish" or "Bring through" or "Bring to surface" or "Complete" - yeah - "Complete" would be the most accurate word ;)

Yes - I know Ava is an English name as well... And comes from the Biblical name "Eve" - Evening... Eve is the time of day when the sun has set and there is no distinction between night and day...

Just like "Seher" or "Sahar" is the time before the sun rises and there is then no distinction between night and day either...

But anyway - your name sounds much better in Kurdish! :D

Nice to have you here Ava! ;)
