I eat chickens :D Well treated free range farm chicken :-D

And I eat fish :D

It is just the more intelligent animals I grew up with - and sometimes made pets of - that I have never been able to bring myself to eat :((

Most animals and many birds have far more intelligence - great feeling and sensitivity - than most people realise :(

Something people do not realise is that many farmers actually have too separate lots of stock - one for sale to the public - one for the farmers own use

The animals for the farmers own use are often treated with extra special care and are always free range - that is the only way some farmers are able to bring themselves to eat their own produce - they have to know the animals they eat have had the best treatment possible

Not that most framers in England treat their animals badly - the UK laws are far to strong and powerful - many farmers just need that extra something in order to bring themselves to eat their own stock :D

I don't want to depress you but chickens and ducks can be very clever and funny pets. I had both when I was a kid. :D

I have discovered that gin tonic has less calories than wine. Interesting.

Today :

2 café crème, 2 sugars, 1 croissant.

lunch : not yet decided. Probably a roll of things I have to finish in my frigo.

Dinner :

Smoked salmon and 2 blinis, sour cream, lettuce.
2 gin tonic.

How many calories would you save if you swapped the G & T for diet lemonade?

Concerning lemonade diet, I suppose it is just water and lemon. So probably 0 calories.

2 glasses of normal lemonade (250 ml) is 190 calories.

2 gin tonic (around 80 ml) = 188 calories.

2 glasses of white wine (375 ml) = 273 calories.

Today, I had 50 mn of Yoga session (hard !) and 2 h of housework. I am sure I burnt all my gin tonic :D

So my final menu :

2 cafés crème, 2 sugars.

1 BLT roll.

2 blinis (100 g), smoked salmon (4 slices, 120g), sour cream (30 ml), lettuce, and 2 glasses of Sicilian White wine (375 ml) :

Total of the calories : 1795 calories. That's ok. My diet during the week is 1500 c., but if I eat normally, I should not eat more than 1800-2140.

But tomorrow, I go to my Bro's birthday. Sure there will have a big cake with cream X(

For politeness sake you have to have some of your brother's birthday cake AND the wine that is bound to accompany the meal :ymdevil:

I have opened the complete omnibus of Madame de La Fayette's novels : La princesse de Montpensier, La princesse de Clèves… Wonderful passions, beautiful characters, brave and handsome men, and unfortunate lovers : one of the treasures of French literature written in a style that is a jewel.
