What happened in Xanesor town of Shengal?

Clashes that erupted upon the attack of KDP-affiliated forces on Xanesor this morning continued till the noon. While tension continues, YBŞ/YJŞ forces tightened security measures and peshmergas remain in their positions.

ATTEMPT TO ENTER LIBERATED AREAS

YBŞ/YJŞ (Shengal/Women's Defense Units) officials stated that some groups calling themselves peshmergas yesterday attempted to enter areas under the control of YBŞ forces since the liberation of these areas from ISIS in 2014. YBŞ officials held talks with peshmerga officials to hinder the eruption of a clash and demanded their leave from the region.

YBŞ forces expected a withdrawal by peshmerga forces who, however, launched an attack on Xanesor town early Friday morning. YBŞ fighters responded to the peshmergas to stop the attacks, but the aggression was intensified afterwards.

PESHMERGAS REFUSING TO FIGHT WERE ARRESTED BY KDP

After the fighting began, some peshmergas in Xanesor and Mount Shengal refused to take part in the armed confrontation, saying "we do not want this war". KDP therewith arrested some 80 peshmergas that did not accept to engage in the fighting, according to reports.

CIVILIANS TOOK UP ARMS

Many locals in the region took up arms in response to the peshmergas' attempt to enter Xanesor. People coming from Xanesor and Mount Shengal marched to the peshmerga positions and voiced their reaction. Mothers took down the KDP flags on military vehicles in protest at the attack.

Tension continues in Shengal

Clashes erupted Friday morning after a so-called 'Rojava-Peshmerga' group affiliated to the KDP of South Kurdistan forcibly attempted to enter the areas held by Shengal Resistance Units (YBŞ) in Xanesor town of Shengal.

Reports suggest that the KDP group suffered many losses during the clashes, after which they demanded a ceasefire. Clashes therewith ceased at noon but tension continues since.

Shengal/Women's Defense Units (YBŞ/YJŞ) tightened security measures yesterday and last night.

According to reporters on the ground, YBŞ Command will make a statement today regarding the latest situation at scene.

YPJ: We are ready to protect our people in Shengal

YPJ described the KDP attack on Shengal as a conspiracy of AKP and Erdoğan, stressing that: “We are ready to protect our Êzîdî people in Shengal against these attacks like we did in 2014.”

Women's Defense Units (YPJ) released a statement condemning the attack launched by KDP-affiliated forces on Xanesor town of Shengal, South Kurdistan yesterday.

The statement by YPJ said the followings:

“A great trauma was experienced in the Shengal Massacre of August 3, 2014. Our Êzîdî people and all the Kurdish people have been suffering the pain of this massacre since. We do not accept a repetition of this pain. Those developing such an approach should step back immediately.”

"WE ARE READY TO PROTECT SHENGAL LIKE IN 2014"

YPJ stated that these attacks were not conducted by some groups called "Roj Peshmergas" alone, adding: "These attacks are part of a quite deliberate and planned conspiracy developed by the Turkish state and KDP against the Kurdish people for their political interests. For this reason, we are ready to uphold our mission to protect our people, just like how we as YPJ did in 2014."

"THIS CONSPIRACY ALSO TARGETS ROJAVA"

YPJ statement continued; "This is also a conspiracy developed against Rojava which neighbors Shengal. We will not allow the accomplishment of this conspiracy which aims to harm the peoples of Shengal and Rojava. We will fulfill all our responsibilities in this regard."

CALL TO THE KURDISH PEOPLE

The YPJ statement ended with a call to the Kurdish people;

"All the Kurds should be sensitive against this conspiracy. This attack against our Êzîdî people in Shengal is a conspiracy targeting all the Kurdish people. All the Kurds everywhere should take a stance by those fighting for their free future, and against those bargaining over the blood and life of the Kurdish people."

YBŞ/YJŞ: We have the power to respond to every attack on our soil

Shengal/Women's Resistance Units (YBŞ/YJŞ): "In every condition and possibility we will defend the region. We have the power to respond to every attack on our soil. For two and a half years, we've paid much for this."

Shengal/Women's Resistance Units (YBŞ/YJŞ) Commands released a statement about the attack of KDP forces on Shengal.

The statement said the followings:

On March 2, a group of gangs, called "Roj Peshmergas" led by ENKS, made their way from Sihelan and Duhok to Shengal. These groups of gangs came to Khanesor at 13:30. Our forces talked to this group to find out why they came here. It was understood from the talks that this group wanted to occupy Shengal and control other areas in the hands of our forces.

When our people in the region heard the arrival of these groups of gangs, they disagreed with them, standing against them and all the children, women and elderly people expressed their anger. At the same time, our forces took measures to prevent this group from progressing and for no other tension to take place.

On the other hand, our efforts continued for this group to go back. But despite all our efforts, in the morning of March 3, these groups of gangs attacked our forces simultaneously from many sides with 30 Humvees, armored vehicles and all kinds of weapons. For this reason, our forces responded to the attack in the framework of defense and clashes began.

The clashes lasted approximately 3 hours, in which seven of our comrades reached martyrdom and 20 of our comrades were injured. Two of our fallen comrades are HPG fighters. These comrades were also martyred because they did not want to get involved and fight.

It is very strange and meaningful that this attack was launched after the Ankara talks. It is very clear that these attack plans were planned during those talks. These aggressive gang groups were directly trained and financed by Turkey's National Intelligence Organization (MIT). In this framework, these groups of gangs are used everywhere for the interests of Turkey.

Among these gangs, there are Sunni Muslim groups which attacked our people alongside the Daesh gangs in the Shengal edict period.

Our Ezidi people in no way accept such a group to be on their territory and see it as occupying forces.

We are not against the peshmerga groups of the Kurdistan Region entering Shengal. There are already peshmerga groups in Shengal.

These gang groups are now preparing a new assault against our forces in all of Shengal. As long as this is the case, tension will be the basis. In every condition and possibility we will defend the region. We have the power to respond to every attack on our soil. For two and a half years, we've paid much for this.

We foremost call to the Êzidî people, all the Kurdish peoples; Do not be silent against these brutal attacks, show your response with a national and united spirit. This attack is the continuation of the 73rd Edict, so the Êzidî people should approach this with consciousness and maintain their struggle in Kurdistan and abroad. We are addressing the Êzidî peshmerga forces which are affiliated to the KDP; Do not be a part of these games. These groups of gangs are against all the values of Êzidîs and Kurdistan.”

KDP forces forming emplacements on the road leading to Shengal

The KDP-affiliated groups that yesterday attacked Shengal's Khanesor town held by Shengal Resistance Units (YBŞ), resulting in clashes, continue their works for further deployment in the area.

Local sources report that the groups are conducting emplacement works on the road leading to Shengal center as they apparently continue preparations for another aggression.

Shengal/Women's Resistance Units (YBŞ/YJŞ) have tightened security measures in the area.

KDP's asayish forces detain the people protesting the Shengal attack

KDP's asayish forces in Hewler have detained dozens protesting the attack on Shengal.

Masses gathered in Hewler today to protest the attack launched by KDP and Turkish state's gangs against the Shengal/Women's Resistance Units (YBŞ/YJŞ) yesterday.

Asayish (public security) forces of the KDP (Kurdistan Democrat Party) hindered the press statement the demonstrators were set to make at the Sami Abdurrahman Park. Asayish forces later attacked the demonstrators and detained at least 10 people, including an official from Democratic People's Front Committee of Presidency, Dr. Mıhemed Kiyani, and Rojnews reporter for Hewler, Siware Mehmud.

KCK urges an immediate end to KDP's attacks on Shengal and Êzidîs

KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council Co-Presidency released a statement regarding the attacks of KDP-affiliated forces against the Êzidî people in Shengal.

KCK called for the recognition of the Shengal people's will for self-administration and self-defense, and urged an immediate end to the attacks which -it said- aim to break the will of Shengal.

"ATTACKS MUST BE STOPPED IMMEDIATELY"

Remarking that the attacks on Khanesor and Suninê areas aimed to break and seize the will of Êzidî people in Shengal, KCK underlined that: “After the genocide of 3 August, 2014, Êzidî people demand to realize a self-administration and self-defense. While this demand needs to be respected, it is neither moral, nor conscientious or democratic to seek to govern Shengal like the pre-3 August period and to establish authority over them.

The attack of the forces affiliated to the KDP is an occupant force onslaught that does not recognize the distinctness and autonomy of diversities in Kurdish nationality. We call for an immediate end to this attack, and recognition of the Shengal people's will for self-administration and self-defense; a reality that constitutes a must for the building of a political and social system.

No political force has the right to build an authoritarian system an Shengal. A political solution in Shengal can only be achieved only through the recognition of the Êzidîs' political will and self-defense. Êzidîs' approval of a political system, structure and status other than this will mean an approval of the political system in which they have been through 73 genocides so far."

"ÊZIDÎS ARE A HERITAGE FOR THE KURDS AND HUMANITY"

KCK underlined that Êzidîs are a historical heritage for the Kurds and humanity who therefore bear responsibilities for them, noting that all international social and political powers, the UN in the first place, also have responsibilities in order for Êzidîs to attain a democratic self-administration.

"This attack came after the Turkish state repeatedly pointed Shengal as a target, and soon after Mr. Masoud Barzani's visit to Turkey. The Turkish state's official news agency 'Anadolu Ajansı' reporting that this aggression was carried out at the request of the Turkish government does reveal clearly which political relations are behind this attack."

WARNING TO THE KDP

The statement by KCK continued; "KDP must know that the AKP-MHP government has spread the Turkish state's policy of genocide to the entire Kurdistan territory today. The Turkish government's relationship with KDP aims for the elimination of the Kurdish Freedom Movement that constitutes an obstacle to this intended genocide. For this reason, KDP must avoid supporting the Turkish state's policies on Shengal, Rojava and Bakurê (Northern) Kurdistan. KDP must leave the Êzidîs -the most oppressed society of the Kurds- in peace, and respect their will."

Pointing to the the major political and economic problems in Bashurê (Southern) Kurdistan, KCK stressed that KDP must basically focus on the resolution of these problems.

"Such an aggression on Shengal is unacceptable in such a process when we call for national unity and national congress that will contribute to the resolution of all these problems. It is not possible to survive the political and economic problems in Bashurê Kurdistan by creating other agendas. An attack on Shengal will not only result in shedding the blood of Kurdish youths and worsening the relations among Kurds, it will also gladden and encourage the enemies of the Kurds. From this standpoint, KDP shouldn't be a part of the Turkish state's plan to use Kurds against each other and to keep them again in a genocidal system in the 21st century."

"KURDISH FREEDOM MOVEMENT WILL TAKE NO STEP BACKWARDS THROUGH IMPOSITIONS"

The statement by KCK Executive Council Co-Presidency continued as follows:

“While the Kurdish Freedom Movement seeks a settlement of the problems among Kurdish political parties through dialogue and has a talk with the KDP to this end, such an attack on Shengal will produce no results other than a deterioration of the existing problems by harming the political relations and extending the lack of confidence.

We should emphasise once again that it is not possible to make the Kurdish Freedom Movement accept some things or take a step backwards by means of impositions. If similar attacks are resumed, it is clear that KDP will not make any gains from this attempt. We therefore reiterate our call to the KDP to stop such attacks, and to come up with a solution to the problems concerning Shengal through the assembly and self-administration organs of the Êzidîs.

We call on the Êzidî people to defend the lands of Shengal that brought them into existence, to establish their self-administration systems on the basis of ensuring self-defense in order not face another edict and to realize a democratic autonomous life. We also call on all the Êzidîs living outside of Êzidî land to unite around this resistance and to take part in the struggle to attain a free and democratic living."

CALL TO KURDISH POLITICAL CIRCLES AND PEOPLE

KCK remarked that the Kurdish people and Kurdish public opinion is the main factor for the resolution of the problems between Kurdish political powers and obstruction of conflicts, adding:

"When the Kurdish people rise up and intervene such situations, and when the Kurdish public opinion manifests their stance against an internal conflict, no political side will dare to conduct such attacks. On this basis, the Kurdish people in four parts of Kurdistan and abroad should oppose this attack and put democratic pressure on KDP in order for it to withdraw its military forces from Shengal and to stop the reinforcement of military forces. First and foremost, the people of Bashurê Kurdistan and all political powers, democratic society organisations and institutions, press organs, intellectuals, artists, writers and academics should oppose the KDP's attack on Shengal, take to the streets and ensure the withdrawal of KDP's these military forces. They should oppose the policy pursued by the KDP on behalf of Bashurê Kurdistan that intends to pressure, threaten and blackmail the Shengal people with an aim to break their will.

All the Kurdistan people, -Bashurê Kurdistan people, political and democratic powers in the first place- as well as their political and democratic institutions should stand by the Shengal people, their assembly and self-defense, and not leave the Êzidî people alone in their struggle to gain will, and to rule and defend themselves.

We call on all humanity, democratic political powers, institutions and international powers to defend the Êzidîs- a heritage of history to humanity-, to stand against the attacks targeting Êzidîs, and to support Êzidî people's struggle and resistance to attain self-administration, self-defense and autonomy."

Preparations for another attack on Shengal

Reports are coming through that armed groups of gangs trained by the KDP and the Turkish state are preparing to launch another attack on Shengal.

As attempts for the invasion of Shengal's Khanesor town continue, armed groups of gangs trained by the KDP and the Turkish state deployed in Sinûne town of Shengal are reinforcing heavy weaponry to launch another attack on areas held by Shengal/Women's Defense Units (YBŞ/YJŞ). The groups are reported to be preparing grounds for mortar systems.

On the other hand, a statement made by the South Kurdistan Regional Government hinted that attacks will continue, arguing that nobody would be able hinder the activity of peshmerga forces.

Thirty Yazidi refugees arrive in Portugal this Monday

Thirty people from the Yazidi community “needing international protection” are due to arrive in the northern Portuguese city of Guimarães and will be housed in accommodation provided by municipal charities, the local authority said.

All Yazidis need international protection in their homeland

Yazidis are an ethnically Kurdish religious minority that haa been persecuted and massacred in Syria and Iraq by supporters of the so-called Islamic State (ISIS). The Yazidi religion combines aspects of Zoroastrianism, Christianity and Islam.

As the Yazidi's religion was in existence long before Christianity and Islam, it means that both Christianity and Islam have their roots in the Yazidi religion :ymparty:

In a statement sent to Lusa, the City Council said the 30 refugees will join another 43 refugees from Eritrea, Ethiopia, Syria and the Central African Republic who are already living in the area as part of a Plan of Action called “Guimarães Welcomes”.

The 30 refugees are made up of eight families including nine women, eight men and 13 children.

http://www.theportugalnews.com/news/thi ... nday/41257

The people who need intimidate help and who are most at risk are the Yazidis.

The priority MUST be to free all those held by ISIS and protect the Yazidis on their homeland

Êzidî mothers: Barzani sold Shengal out to Erdoğan

Regarding the KDP attack on Shengal, Êzidî mothers said: “Barzani has sold us out once again. KDP sold us out to ISIS first, and to Erdoğan now. We will fight the KDP until one single Êzidî remains alive.”

Speaking to reporters, mothers in Shengal responded to the KDP attack on Shengal, saying: “Barzani sold us out once again. KDP sold us out to ISIS first, and to Erdoğan now. We will fight the KDP until one single Êzidî remains alive and we will not allow the Barzani gangs to enter our lands. With these attacks, they want to finalize the 73rd genocide against Êzidîs.”

73rd genocide against Êzidîs

Mother Xezal Sılo remarked that these attacks have reminded them of ISIS, saying: "The peshmergas deployed here are gangs. We are afraid that these gangs will kidnap our women just like the ISIS did back then. The arrival of these gangs in our land is not for our benefit, it is rather aimed to harm us and to finalize the 73rd massacre. What peshmergas are doing now is a shame, a betrayal. We do not want the peshmergas to consolidate their power over our lands."

Recalling the ISIS attack of 3 August, 2014, Xezal Sılo stated the followings: "They want to kidnap our women and kill our men as they did on 3 August. We do not trust the peshmerga and Barzani anymore, even if only one Êzidî remains alive.

If the peshmergas really want to protect us, they should liberate our 10 villages to the north of Mount Shengal that are still held by ISIS."

Another mother from Shengal, Berfê Îlyas asked the following questions to the KDP: "Where were you while our women and girls were kidnapped by ISIS? Why did you leave us and flee then, do you remember us only now? The biggest gang is the KDP peshmergas. We, young and old alike, will carry out self-defense, and we will not allow the peshmergas to enter our lands as long as we live."

Berfê Îlyas stressed that Êzidîs are not the Êzidîs of the past anymore, saying: "We, all the mothers, children, youths and women are organized and trained now. We took many lessons from this massacre and we as women will defend ourselves. Barzani and Erdoğan has made a deal over us, just like Barzani and ISIS did in 2014. Barzani and Erdoğan want to finalize the 73rd massacre of Êzidîs. Barzani has once again sold Shengal out, to Erdoğan. However, we will not allow the gangs of Barzani to advance one single step into our soil this time."

Shengal martyrs laid to rest on Mount Shengal

5 of the 7 fighters who died as result of the KDP forces' attack in Shengal have been laid to rest on Mount Shengal. Êzîdxan Asayish member was buried in Shengal's Borik village and HPG guerrilla Orhan Baran will be buried in Qamishlo.

Bodies of HPG guerrilla Newroz Güvercin (Çekdar Sinan), YBŞ fighters Elyas Xelef İsa Xidir (Çiya Serdeşt), Xidir Meto Quto (Şoreş Şiba), Faysal Xelef Nepsa Dirbo (Arif Tilqesep) and YJŞ fighter Zuleyha Sarıaltun (Tekoşin Serhed), who had lost their lives as result of the KDP forces' attack in Shengal on 3 March, were taken from Khanesor to the Serdest region on Mount Shengal for burial. RIP

Large number of Shengalis attending the funeral ceremony accompanied the procession to the Martyr Berxwedan and Martyr Dilgeş Cemetery on Mount Shengal, chanting “Şehit Namirin” (Martyrs are Immortal) and “Biji Serok Apo” (Long Live Leader Öcalan). The funeral at the cemetery began with a military ceremony.

Speaking after the military ceremony, Êzidî Coordination member Zeki Şengali offered their condolences to the families of martyrs and the people of Kurdistan.

ZEKİ ŞENGALİ: OUR COMRADES WERE MURDERED VICIOUSLY

Şengali stated the followings:

"Today, we bid farewell to 7 martyrs of ours. We paid a heavy price for the liberation of these lands, many people of ours fell martyr. However, these comrades of ours were martyred by the forces calling themselves Kurds. Êzidî people are not an unconscious or unorganized folk anymore. We know why those forces are attacking here today. For the Êzidî people, there are two periods; before and after the 73rd massacre. Êzidî people will not be unorganized and they will be leaving freely after the 73rd massacre. The colonialists are afraid of this reality and they want to sustain their ruling. Êzidîs will live as per their faith and religion. They will ensure their organisation in all the areas of life."

Remarking that 7 fighters were massacred viciously, Şengali continued; "These comrades of ours sacrificed their lives for the freedom of Êzîdxan. Some circles argue that they died fighting. This is not true as our comrades wanted to protect their living area but they were attacked and massacred. Those attacking Shengal are not the people or citizens of this land. These groups are colonialists that were trained by Turkey and deployed here. Why did they ever attack Khanesor? They are attacking because they have lost their power. If the arms mobilized against Khanesor had been used against ISIS, the Êzidî people would not have suffered a massacre. These forces received these arms from the coalition but they used them to commit a massacre here.

This folk will defend themselves and their will cannot be defeated by any force. YBŞ is a defense force established with the blood of the people. Nobody can stand in their way. Êzidî people trust themselves. No force will triumph over them no matter how powerful heavy weapons they possess."

YBŞ COMMANDER: WE WILL PROTECT SHENGAL

Speaking after on behalf of the YBŞ Command, Zerdeşt Şengali stressed that the attacking groups aimed to break the people's will but faced a great resistance. YBŞ Commander added: "Our comrades have been martyred. They are the martyrs of Êzîdxan. We have the power to respond to any attack."

SHENGAL HPG COMMANDER: WE WILL BRING THEM TO ACCOUNT

Ferhat Kantus on behalf of Shengal HPG Command said: "We came here in order that colonialist forces do not occupy the lands of Êzîdxan. Everyone should know that we will bring them to account for our martyrs, for Çekdar who was martyred with tanks."

Families of the martyrs pledged to continue the struggle of their children to the very end.

Following the speeches, the mass sang the Kurdish march Çerxa Şoreşê, a will left by YBŞ fighter Şoreş Siba who had said "If I fall a martyr one day, let people sing Çerxa Şoreşê in my funeral".

The 5 martyrs were later laid to rest.

Êzîdxan Asayish member Selam Eli Mixeber (Amed Şengali) was laid to rest in Shengal's Boruk village, and the other HPG guerrilla Orhan Baran (İbrahim Hüso) will be buried in Qamishlo city of Rojava tomorrow.

I will be the first to admit that we do not have full details of the events taking place in and around Shengal

But I am convinced the majority of the information I post is factual

If anyone has any further information PLEASE share it with us

We, at Roj Bash Kurdistan, have been following, posting and sharing the news of the Yazidi genocide and the suffering of the Yazidis since early August 2014

We believe that the UN should install a peace-keeping force to protect the Yazidis and their homeland

We are shocked and disgusted at the indifference the entire world has shown to the slaughter and plight of these wonderful innocent people :(( =((

Rojava Peshmerga deployment to Shingal is not to attack PKK, K. presidency

Any armed groups in the Shingal region other than the Peshmerga must leave and that most of them are related to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) whose presence is opposed by local people and the authorities alike, the spokesperson of the Kurdish presidency Omed Sabah told Rudaw on Saturday.

He was commenting on the Friday clashes that erupted between the Rojava Peshmerga, a force whose members are from Syrian Kurdistan and are under the command of Kurdistan Region, and Shingal Protections Units (YBS) , an affiliate of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). The clashes resulted in a number of casualties on both sides, and has since stopped. He also said that the deployment of the Rojava Peshmerga was not to attack the PKK fighters, repeating the official line that it was there to protect the Yezidi areas from ISIS group. But the situation remains fluid. Here is an edited version of the interview.

Rudaw: The YBS [Shingal Protections Units] troops are not from outside Shingal. They are from this town, this area. Those who are there are affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK); they are close to the PKK. But they are from this place. Is it appropriate to expel people who come from Shingal?

Omed Sabah: All these entities, namely YBS and so on, are all PKK armed forces. They all originate from PKK’s ideology. They are all PKK fighters. They think within the framework of PKK ideology. Their behavior is driven by PKK ideology, too, and they take orders from the PKK. This is clear. Having a few members from Shingal does not legitimize them to stay there.

The Kurdistan Region didn’t invite the PKK. The PKK themselves came, rescued people, and liberated the area. Why should you tell them that they should leave the area and have no right to stay there now that situations have stabilized there, while they are people from this area?

It is not the way you put it. They are not from there. How does a military force get legitimacy here? They should first be within the framework of Kurdistan Region’s armed forces. The force that is there is not within this framework. Second, the force should obtain agreement and acceptance from people of the area. Did you see all these statements that all the people from Shingal are saying that this force should leave the area? The Yezidi Mir, Yezidi Spiritual Council, Shingal’s mayoral council, and the Nineveh provincial council.

The PKK is based in Makhmur, Kirkuk area, and in other places, too. Why should they leave from here, but not in other places? Why do you sell them a fight from here [Shingal], but in other places?

The issue is very different. The difference is that the camp they have in Makhmur was opened according to a resolution passed by the United Nations. They were based there on humanitarian rather than military grounds. And yet their conduct in Makhmur is illegal and irresponsible.

It is alleged that military forces have been deployed to Makhmur in two directions. Is this true?

I don’t have information on this subject. There have been no statements from the general command of the armed forces. In addition, it is normal to have movements, if there are any. People’s agreement and acceptance of a military force somewhere is another source of legitimacy for the force. The PKK forces in Shingal are neither within the framework of the general command of Kurdistan Region’s armed forces nor do they possess acceptance and agreement of the indigenous people of this place, and the statements issued testify this.

In your statement today, you say that this is Peshmerga movement of forces, and the Ministry of Peshmerga, too, the Peshmerga forces are engaged with the process of exchanging positions in the town of Sinune. But Colonel Qadir Shekh Mami who is a commander in the Rojava Forces, in an interview with Anadolu News Agency, said that they wanted to move toward Khanasur, [only to move forces]. This is on the day of the war, 3 March. Whereas a day before that, this casts doubt on your entire statement, Colonel Mami spoke to Anadolu: “Roj Peshmerga forces have moved to the gates of the area to conduct an operation to clear Khanaswr from PKK fighters and YPG. We are awaiting more forces and orders from our superiors.” This is one day before the war which erupted the day after. Who issued the order to fight?

You referred to three statements which were from Kurdistan Region’s Presidency, Ministry of Peshmerga and frontline commanders. These are official statements which all state that it was Peshmerga’s exchange of position. You refer to the statement of one of the commanders to destroy and invalidate all the official statements. This shouldn’t be done in journalism. You should rely on official statements in order to see the real picture of the events.
