Night of bloodshed in London

Oluwafemi Omosuyi, known as Femi, had recently come back from training in Dublin when he was gunned down outside a school in Peckham

Horrifying footage emerged online purportedly showing the aftermath

He was taken to hospital with life changing injuries and is in critical condition

His mother, Stella Aladetam, 53, pleaded for witnesses to come forward

Mr Omosuyi, known as Femi, had recently come back from training in Dublin when he was gunned down outside Oliver Goldsmith Primary in Peckham, south London, last night

A 22-year-old, who is fighting for his life after having 'half his face blown off' in a shooting, has today been named as semi-professional boxer Oluwafemi Omosuyi.

Mr Omosuyi, known as Femi, had recently come back from training in Dublin when he was gunned down outside Oliver Goldsmith Primary in Peckham, south London, last night.

He was blasted with a shotgun in the upper body and received pellet wounds to the face just before 8pm on Wodehouse Avenue, sparking an armed police response.

Horrifying footage emerged online purportedly showing the aftermath of the double shooting.

In the gruesome video, crowds of onlookers hover over a man, believed to be Mr Omosuyi with blood gushing from his face.

He was taken to hospital with life changing injuries and remains in critical, but stable, condition. A second victim, 25, received superficial injuries in the gangland attack.

Mr Omosuyi, 22, boxed for All Stars Boxing Gym, west London, and is a prospect 'heavyweight', according to his club. But the shooting may have an impact on his career.

His mother, Stella Aladetam, 53, revealed her son has had emergency surgery and pleaded for witnesses to come forward so Mr Omosuyi's attackers can be brought to justice.

Ms Aladetam said: 'A friend came to tell us what happened, he was here on Saturday and he went out with friends.

'I was so shocked, he was in the operating theatre until about midnight yesterday, I was so panicked I couldn't even eat, just panic and shock. He is sleeping now, his sister is with him in hospital.

'We are trying to get their names so police can arrest them.

'He had just come back from a month's training in Dublin and his coach had told him to stay at home and get some rest.

In February, talented and 'explosive' boxer, Mr Omosuyi, won a match in just 30 seconds when he knocked out his opponent in the first round and had spent a month training in Dublin for matches this summer

Pictures from the crime scene in Peckham show armed police wearing bullet proof vests surrounding a blue Ford focus with a shattered window

'He was in the car with friends and they just came up and shot him through the window in the face, he also was hit in the arm and the hand.

'Femi was never involved in gangs and his friends were always nice, these two boys who shot him I just want them arrested. I hope he is okay, you never pray for your children to get shot.

'He trains at least three times a week, twice in the week and once at weekends. He loved his boxing, he was so happy to be training in Dublin, very happy.'

In February, talented and 'explosive' boxer, Mr Omosuyi, won a match in just 30 seconds when he knocked out his opponent in the first round and had spent a month training in Dublin for matches this summer.

After the stunning win All Stars Boxing Gym tweeted: 'WINNER by 1st round KO, our explosive heavyweight prospect Femi Omosuyi does it again, knocking out his opponent soon after the bell sounded to start the bout.

Friends say he got into the wrong crowd and was also stabbed last year, allegedly by the same attackers who gunned him down

'That's 2 bouts, 2 1st round KO's.'

Friends say he got into the wrong crowd and was also stabbed last year, allegedly by the same attackers who gunned him down.

But last while spending time with friends, he was blasted with a shotgun through the window of a blue Ford Focus just yards from his mother's front door.

Pellets sprayed the saloon and left Mr Omosuyi with 'half his face blown off' and gunshot wounds to his arm and hand.

His sister Ayomiposi Omosuyi, 24, has been in hospital with her only brother since the shooting.

Today a friend, who did not want to be named, said he had got involved in the wrong crowd.

He said: 'I heard two gunshots and then heard it was Femi. I have known him since he was a kid, he got into the wrong crowd, these are the consequences when kids just don't respect their elders anymore.'

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: 'Police were called to Wodehouse Avenue, SE5 at 7.56pm on Saturday, June 2 to reports of a shooting.

'Officers, including armed police, attended and found two men aged 22 and 25 suffering gun shot injuries.

'Both males were taken by London Ambulance Service to central London hospitals where Victim 1's condition remains critical. Victim 2's injuries are not life threatening.

Witnesses claim the driver of the vehicle was blasted in the face with a shotgun

Detectives from Trident and Area Crime Command investigate.

'There have been no arrests. Inquiries continue.'

Horrifying footage emerged purportedly showing the aftermath of the double shooting in London.

Unverified video showing a man writhing in agony and covered in blood on the pavement emerged online.

In the gruesome footage, crowds of onlookers hover over a man, believed to be Mr Omosuyi with blood gushing from his face.

In the video one witness asks another man in the crowd: 'Were you in the car with him?'

A woman in a black vest top appears to be calling for an ambulance.

Both men were airlifted by the London Ambulance Service to a hospital in the capital for treatment.

Pictures from the scene show armed police wearing bullet proof vests surrounding a blue Ford focus with a shattered window.

Officers attended the crime scene and cordoned off the street but no arrests have been made.

An air ambulance landed at a school playground near the scene of the incident.

Police confirmed a man was found with gunshot injuries and has been rushed to hospital. Another man was also found injured nearby

Police set up a cordon at the scene of the shooting in Peckham at around 8pm tonight

The shooting came just an hour after a man believed to be in his 40s was stabbed shortly before 6.50pm near Greenwich train station in south east London.

Another crime scene has been set up there, but no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

A Met Police spokesman said: 'Police were called to Claremont Street, SE10 at 1848hrs on Saturday, 2 June to reports of a stabbing.

'Officers and London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended and found a male suffering from multiple stab injuries.

The red helicopter landed on basketball courts at the school to rush the victims to hospital

'The injured man - believed to be aged in his forties - was taken by LAS to a south London hospital. We await an update on his condition.'A crime scene is in place. No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue. '

Both incidents come after a string of violent episodes in London over the past few days, including a man who was targeted in a drive-by shooting.

Earlier yesterday a man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in Shadwell on Friday night.

Bystanders tackle moped attackers who raided London watch shop

Terrifying moment a moped gang stormed a luxury jewellers in the heart of London yesterday

Stunned shoppers and tourists watched on as three of the men run out of the watch shop and fled on mopeds

Brave bystanders managed to wrestle a raider to the ground, with police later confirming they made an arrest

Footage shows a bystander swinging a dolly trolley at a raider, while another runs directly at suspect on a bike

This extraordinary dashcam footage shows the moment Londoners rose up to stop a moped gang armed with giant 'zombie' knives and a sledgehammer after they ransacked a luxury jewellers in central London.

Four heroic pedestrians ran straight at the armed men forcing one of the robbers to abandon his motorbike before they performed a citizens' arrest on another suspect.

A delivery worker is seen sprinting towards the criminals swinging his trolley before throwing it at them as they race from the Watches of Switzerland store in Regent Street.

Three of the thugs ran out of the watch shop and jumped onto mopeds, while another fled on foot.

The brave bystanders managed to wrestle a fifth raider to the ground, with police later confirming they had arrested him.

The moped gang's attack - one of 60 in London every day - are believed to have made off with watches worth tens of thousands of pounds. They left a sledgehammer embedded in a Rolex display cabinet.

A red scooter was abandoned inside the doors to the store and a second motorcycle was left in the street. Both are thought to have been stolen. A short distance away a large knife and a glove were left on the pavement. It was the third attack on the firm’s central London stores in just three months.

One witness said: ‘Staff on the doors of shops very swiftly got people in from the street. Some of the public managed to wrestle the guys to the ground.’

A bald man wearing a blue jacket was seen trying to swing his dolly towards two of the masked raiders while another man films to his left. He misses the raiders by a matter of inches and they then take off from the scene

A man wearing a gillet ran into the road trying his best to get into the path of the motorbike. He manages to deter the raider, who is forced to ditch his bike on the ground

Another brave hero is seen trying to push his dolly into the path of the masked motorbike raiders, but misses by a few feet, as they begin their getaway on the other side of the road

A large knife is seen lying on the pavement outside Watches of Switzerland in Regent Street, London following today's raid

Using a red scooter as a battering ram, the gang forced open the shop doors before ransacking the shop.

In shocking footage, one of the group paces across the pavement waving a two-foot-long sword at passers-by.

Two of the group were able to enter while the other four remained on the street. However, those two became trapped behind the door.

Today's raid is the third heist at the Watches of Switzerland's West End stores in three months, as police made their first arrest since gangs began targeting the Regent Street and Oxford Street branches three months ago.

Those outside are seen trying to open the doors so they can escape from the smoke-filled shop, before the group flees the scene.

An eyewitness in Regent Street told the Evening Standard that she saw several men trying to smash their way into the store and staff ushered customers to safety.

She added: 'Staff on the doors of shops very swiftly got people in from the street. Some of the public managed to wrestle the guys to the ground.'

The same store was attacked by masked moped raiders in March, with thieves using knives, sledgehammers and a Samurai sword-style blade to break in.

A number of weapons were recovered from the pavement outside, with a picture on Twitter showing a blade resembling a samurai sword lying outside the shop.

Watches of Switzerland also has branch on nearby Oxford Street, which was also raided by moped thugs in April.

Today's raid comes amid a surge in violent crime across the country, with crime stats revealing that 60 robberies on powered two wheel vehicles are happening every day in the capital alone.

Less than 24 hours earlier, comic Michael McIntyre had a £15,000 Rolex watch stolen by moped thugs as he picked up his ten-year-old son from school.

Thugs wielding machetes were seen attacking a motorist in Birmingham yesterday, while a 24-year-old woman was left fighting for her life later that night after she was punched by moped muggers during a struggle over her phone and bag in north London.

Woman, 24, fighting for life after being punched by moped muggers

A woman was left fighting for her life after she was punched by moped muggers during a struggle over her phone and bag.

The woman, aged 24, was walking along a tree lined residential street when she was approached by two thugs on a moped in north London just after 9pm last night.

They tried to grab her bag and phone and in the struggle the pillion passenger punched the lone woman knocking her off her feet.

As they sped away they left the woman lying in the street in Edgware with a serious head injury.

Detective Sergeant Richard Lewsley said: 'This was a horrific attack, the victim had her bag on her shoulder when the males approached her.

'She resisted for some time until the pillion passenger punched her, causing her to fall backwards.

'She is currently in a critical condition and we need to catch these males before they strike again.'

New figures obtained by MailOnline from the Metropolitan Police revealed there were 22,025 powered two-wheel vehicle crimes in London between June 2017 and May 2018, which works out as just over 60 per day. In the previous 12 months, there were 14,699 crimes a year, or 40 per day.

Last month alone, there were 1,154 scooter crimes, down from 1,206 in April.

This year is also proving to be one of the deadliest yet in London, with detectives opening their 70th murder case last week as gun and knife-related crime goes through the roof.

The London Assembly told MailOnline that knife crime offences were up 18.3 per cent for the year up to April, with 14,811 incidents in 2018 compared with to to 12,515 during the same period in 2017.

Steve O’Connell, chairman of the Police and Crime Committee, told MailOnline: 'We continue to see a depressing rise in shocking crimes which leave Londoners vulnerable to the most harmful types of criminality which can leave people scared and with a legacy of emotional and physical problems.

'We are determined to find out what is working and what is not in the battle against violence in London.'

It comes after a spate of violent raids on motorists including comedian Michael McIntyre.

Metropolitan Police said that the thugs were still able to make off with a selection of jewels before they were scared off by members of the public

Shocking video shows gang armed with MACHETES robbing jewellery

The comic was sitting in his Range Rover when thugs smashed his car window and stole his £15,000 Rolex watch as he waited to pick up his son in north west London yesterday.

A spokesman for the Met Police told MailOnline: 'Police were called at 10.18am to reports of a robbery at a jewellery store in Regent Street, W1.

'Officers attended. It was reported that a number of suspects on scooters armed with knives and hammers entered the store and stole several items of property.

'One male was arrested at the scene on suspicion of robbery. He has been taken to a central London police station. Enquiries continue to trace the outstanding suspects.

'Anyone with information or footage of the incident is asked to call police on 101 quoting CAD 2179/05JUN or Tweet @MetCC.'

The same store was attacked by masked moped raiders in March (shown), with thieves using knives, sledgehammers and a Samurai sword

How London's never-ending toll of moped thefts, robberies and attacks keeps rising

The spotlight was thrown on moped crime following a spate of acid attacks and robberies last year, including one attempt to steal the phone of former Chancellor George Osborne.

The apparent impunity with which gangs stole mobile phones, wallets and watches from victims led to police vowing a crackdown on the crimes.

But a steady stream of shocking offences has continued into this year, with every region of the capital being affected by the crime plague.

The list below shows just some of the attacks reported so far in 2018:

1. January 10 - Moped thieves carrying knives rob a Tesco Express in Belsize Road, Swiss Cottage before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.

2. January 24 - Two moped riding thieves spend an entire day robbing people in Cambridge Heath Road and Mile End Road, Tower Hamlets.

3. January 29 - Members of the public, including an 80-year-old grandmother, intervene when would-be robbers attempt to steal the moped of a man in Crouch End.

4. February 4 - Man is stabbed after he fought back against moped robbers in Oxford Street.

5. March 7 - Investment banker tackled moped thief to the ground after hearing him breaking into his car outside his apartment in Beaufort Street, Chelsea.

6. March 18 - Moped gang armed with sledgehammers and knives attack watch shop in Regent Street.

7. March 21 - Simon Jordan, the chairman of Crystal Palace Football Club, is robbed of his £100,000 watch by moped thieves in Sumner Road, Croydon.

8. March 22 - Gang armed with angle grinder attempt to steal £100,000 BBC cameras set up on Putney Bridge and Barnes Bridge to record the University Boat Race.

9. April 5 - Delivery driver is dragged from his moped and stabbed during a brutal attack in Ronnie Lane, Manor Park. Group of teenagers make off with his bike.

10. April 7 - Moped gang armed with metal bars break into shop on Oxford Street before stealing luxury watches.

11. April 19 - Two men on a motorbike armed with a machete confront 17-year-old on Marlborough Road, Sutton and steal his moped.

12. May 2 - Five masked youths demanded mobile phones and money from boys in Albert Road Recreation Ground, Muswell Hill.

13. May 10 - Masked youths on three mopeds drove at parents on the school-run in The Avenue, Muswell Hill in attempt to rob them.

14. May 11 - Courier is forced to fight off two would-be motorbike thieves after they attacked him in a side street in Shepherd's Bush.

15. June 4 - Comedian Michael McIntyre is robbed of his watch as he sits in his car in Golders Green.

16. June 5 - Members of the public intervene to tackle gang of robbers raiding a watch shop on Regent Street.
How moped crimes are rising in London with 60 robberies a day

In the past 12 months, moped gangs carried out 60 robberies a day across London and are known to have been holding training sessions on how to snatch phone before they hit the streets.

Figures obtained by MailOnline from the Metropolitan Police revealed there were 22,025 powered two-wheel vehicle crimes in London between June 2017 and May 2018, which works out as just over 60 per day.

In the previous 12 months, there were 14,699 crimes a year, or 40 per day.

In May 2018, there were 1,154 scooter crimes alone - down from 1,206 in April.

There were 4,842 scooter crimes in February 2018 to May 2018, a reduction from 7,874 crimes between October 2017 to January 2018.

Up to 50,000 offences a year are being committed by thieves on scooters and mopeds in the capital, while some teenage thieves are being arrested up to 80 times but not sent to jail.

Most of the muggings are committed by gangs on stolen vehicles and officers have seen a spike in moped thefts which has rocketed by 41 per cent in the last 12 months to February 2018.

In December, a gang of knife-wielding moped robbers led by a talented teenage singer was locked up for more than 13 years.

Sitey Mairuf and three other teenagers muggers wore skull masks while targeting South London commuters on their way to work between December 2016 and March this year.

They stole six scooters as well as laptops and phones from their victims - which included a police officer - in Victoria, Mitcham, Herne Hill, Kennington and Camberwell.

Now police are warning it is dangerous to get your phone out in public and they are advising pedestrians to use hands free headsets instead to deter criminals.

Scotland Yard superintendent Mark Payne claimed that moped muggers are snatching 20 phones an hour.

The robbers, who usually operate with a pillion passenger, are capable of recognising a mobile phone in a target's pocket from 100 feet away.

Did moped gang stalk Michael McIntyre? Hammer-wielding muggers steal comic's £15k Rolex as he picked up his son, 10, from school

Michael McIntyre has been left 'very shaken' after masked moped riders armed with hammers smashed the driver's window of his £120,000 Range Rover and ripped the £15,000 Rolex from his wrist in front of his terrified son.

The comedian, 42, who is worth £38million, was waiting outside a school in north London, when he was robbed at around 2pm yesterday.

Police are investigating whether the moped gang followed him from his £5.7million Hampstead mansion with the aim of grabbing his Rolex or if he was the victim of a random attack because he was driving a luxury car in a wealthy London suburb.

MUGGED TO DEATH AT 100

Fury as 100-year-old pensioner dies after being mugged on her way to church

Neighbours of Zofija Kaczan, 100, who was shoved to the ground by a cowardly attacker who snatched her handbag, said the crook should 'rot in hell'

A 100-year-old widow died yesterday after her neck was broken in a cowardly street mugging while she was on her daily walk to church.

Zofija Kaczan was shoved to the ground by an attacker who approached from behind and snatched her green imitation-leather handbag.

Neighbours were outraged yesterday at the news of her death nine days after the assault, with one saying: “I just hope they catch whoever did it. The vile coward should rot in hell.”

Police chiefs have also vowed to catch the person responsible for the “particularly nasty attack that targeted a very vulnerable elderly lady unable to defend herself”.

Zofija moved to the UK from Poland with husband Mocoli after World War Two.

He had worked for Rolls-Royce in Derby, but died around ten years ago.

Former factory worker Zofija celebrated her 100th birthday last month with a party at her home.

She was attacked at around 8.45am on Bank Holiday Monday, May 28 — moments after leaving the semi-detached property in Normanton to head to the St Maksymilian Kolbe Polish Church.

A friend found her with blood pouring from a cut on her face.

Police said she had suffered multiple injuries including a broken neck.

She was unable to give officers a description of her attacker.

Officers initially said her injuries were not life-threatening.

But her condition deteriorated and she died in hospital early yesterday.

One neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: “She survived the Second World War and to die in this way just after celebrating her 100th birthday is horrendous.

“She was a lovely lady, so friendly and caring.”

Another, Malik Mohammed, added: “She was the best woman I have ever met.

"She would always talk to neighbours and I would sit outside the front of my house and she would say hello every single time.

“I’m so sad and sorry to hear that she has died. I’ve lived here for almost 25 years and to hear this news saddens me greatly.

"She will always be remembered as an amazing woman.”

Derbyshire Police confirmed that Zofija had been approached from behind, knocked over and had her handbag stolen. The bag was later found dumped nearby.

A 39-year-old man arrested in connection with the mugging has been released under investigation.

Detectives have appealed for information and are keen to hear from anyone who saw a beige Seat Leon near the scene. The car was found abandoned two days later.

Friends fear a large amount of cash may have been stolen from Zofija, who was known as “Mrs K”.

Superintendent Tracy Harrison told how the pensioner seemed to be making a recovery in hospital after the attack, but had died after “taking a turn for the worse”.

She said: “My heartfelt thoughts go to her friends, the members of her church, and to the community. She was well known in the area.

"We are hopeful of bringing the person responsible for this tragedy, this awful crime, to justice.

“We have all got elderly relatives, and for this to happen to a lady who reached the grand age of 100, who had a life in the city of Derby, is despicable.

"It’s awful, and I will do everything I can to catch the person responsible.

“For anyone to target a frail, 100-year-old lady walking to church is despicable and is one of the worst targeted crimes in this respect that I have dealt with.”

ONLY 10% OF KNIFE RAIDS SOLVED

ONLY one in ten knife robberies and less than a quarter of violent crimes involving a blade were solved by London police last year, figures show.

Data from the Met showed a slump in the so-called sanction-detection rate since 2015.

These are cases ending in a sanction like a charge or caution.

Tory London Assembly Police and Crime Committee member Tony Arbour said: “The reason driving more violent crime is the feeling that they’ll get away with it.”

The reason these criminals get away with it is that people are much too frightened to come forward as witness against BLACK gangs

I would not be at all surprised if I learnt that the violent crimes involving a blade which were solved, were actually committed by NON-BLACK youths that people are not afraid to complain about

Armed police sent to the scene of Streatham (South London) stabbing

Armed police have been rushed to the scene of a shocking stabbing in south London.

Met Police officers have responded to reports of a stabbing in Streatham and rushed to the street around 4.36pm.

They were initially called to reports of a fight.

Reports suggest firearms may have been involved in the incident.

There are reports of a heavy police presence on Amesbury Avenue in Streatham Hill where there has been a reported stabbing.

London Ambulance Service have rushed to the scene in south London where armed officers have been spotted on the street.

London Air Ambulance also landed in the area close to Amesbury Avenue which has been cordoned off by police with residents advised to stay indoors.

One man has been rushed to hospital with stab wounds following the broad-daylight incident in Streatham.

Road closures are currently in place on Amesbury Avenue.

What we know in summary

Good evening and thank you for following our live blog following this shocking incident.

Below is a summary of what we know so far.

- Police were called to Amesbury Avenue in Streatham to reports of a group fighting

- A 16-year-old male was found with stab injuries, and was rushed to hospital

- A firearm was found at the scene

- The victim’s condition is described as ‘life-threatening’

- A 18-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm

- A 19-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

'Something needs to change'

It’s clear something needs to change.

This will almost certainly not be the last stabbing to occur in the capital this year, and sadly maybe not even this month, or even week.

There have been cries for change in recent years - cries for more to be done to tackle knife crime.

Politicians, the police and local councils constantly say they have some kind of plan to tackle this increasingly worrying epidemic, yet figures say knife crime is at its worst state in years.

This has led many to question what is actually being done, and it seems not many have the answer.

Police officer believes people need to 'wake up'

A police officer on Twitter has tweeted on his personal account to say that people need to ‘wake up’ in regards to knife crime.

2 people arrested & a firearm found

Come on people wake up!

This is our children!

'Get rid of knives'

More people who live in the area have taken to social media to give their reaction to the stabbing.

User @andybee96 said: “Stabbing at the end of my road. Sad as I have heard the victim is someone who used to play football with my stepson. Just wish the kids with knives would just get rid of them #Streatham.”

Police release more details of two arrested

Metropolitan Police has released more information on the two males who were arrested at the scene of the stabbing.

A 18-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm.

Man dies in stabbing near Turnpike Lane Tube station, Haringey

A man in his 30s has died in a stabbing near a north London Tube station.

Police and ambulance crews were called to Green Lanes near Turnpike Lane station at 21:47 BST on Saturday to reports of a "seriously injured" man.

He had suffered stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, the Metropolitan Police said.

The force has begun a murder investigation - its 74th in the capital so far this year.

Police believe they know the identity of the man, and formal identification and a post-mortem examination will take place later.

Turnpike Lane and nearby roads - including Ducketts Common, where police believe he may have been stabbed - remain cordoned off while investigations are carried out.

Turnpike Lane Tube station is open, but 15 local bus routes are being diverted.

Last month, members of the London Assembly launched an urgent investigation into the recent surge in violent crime in the capital.

Of the Met's murder investigations this year, at least 46 involved knives, while there have been 10 in which guns were used.

Drill rap gang jailed for planning machete revenge attack on rivals

Gang members who made “aggressive and violent” music videos in which they rapped about stabbing rivals have been jailed after being caught with machetes.

Micah Bedeau, 19, Yonas Girma, 21, Isaac Marshall, 18, Jordean Bedeau, 17, and Rhys Herbert, 17, were each imprisoned or detained on Monday for their role in a planned revenge attack on another gang.

A judge has yet to decide whether to ban the west London group from making drill music, a dark and confrontational genre of rap which they record under the name 1011.

Police apply for court order to stop gang members making drill music

The Metropolitan Police had asked for the Ladbroke Grove gang to be given criminal behaviour orders to prevent them making drill videos which “reference violence” for up to five years.

The force warned the group’s lyrics risked inflaming violent crime, citing references to stabbing and shooting a rival gang.

But lawyers for the members of 1011, whose music has been streamed more than 11 million times on YouTube, suggested the content of the videos was just “one-upmanship” and said no one had been harmed as a result.

All five admitted conspiracy to commit violent disorder after they were found with machetes, baseball bats and a knife in November last year.

Kingston Crown Court heard they planned a revenge attack on members of rival gang 12 World, from Shepherd’s Bush, who had filmed themselves harassing Bedeau’s gradmother.

A clip of 12 World members abusing and threatening her for entering their area was posted on Snapchat and later appeared on YouTube with the words: “Micah come get your grandma, she’s lacking [protection] on our strip.”

The 1011 members initially claimed their weapons were props for a music video but judge Ann Mulligan said she was certain “serious violence” would have followed if they had not been arrested.

All five gang members were given custodial sentences:

Micah Bedeau, of Colville Square, Notting Hill, was sentenced to three years and six months in a young offenders’ unit
Yonas Girma, 21, of Hounslow Road, Hanworth, was jailed for three years and six months
Isaac Marshall, 18, of Ladbroke Grove, was given two years detention
Jordan Bedeau, 17, of Colville Square, Notting Hill, was given a one-year detention and training order
Rhys Herbert, 17, of Lonsdale Road, Notting Hill, was given a one-year detention and training order
A decision on the CBOs will be made on Friday.

The police proposal to prevent the group making music videos came is controversial, with critics suggesting the strategy would be unfair and ineffective.

“All that ignoring what it’s saying and supressing it is going to do is push it further down and it will pop up in more extreme places,” youth worker Ciaran Thapar told The Independent.

Former Met Police commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe said he was “not convinced” drill was responsible for rising violence.

But Detective Chief Superindent Kevin Southworth, who heads the Met’s Trident gang crime command, said the force was “not here to demonise drill music” and would only act “where somebody is clearly and solely trying to provoke an act of violence.”

These are NOT sweet innocent children, they a violent savages

These black gangs terrorise communities and attack innocent people from mopeds. They fight each other in full view of the general public who are far too petrified to tell the police what they saw

It annoys me when I read of PKK terrorists but little is mentioned about the gangs of black savages terrorising the streets of our major cities

PKK are freedom fighters and should be recognised as such

'I’ve never seen anything like it in my life'
Reaction to Croydon town centre stabbing

A mother is "frightened" about her child going into Croydon town centre after a stabbing in broad daylight and a witness to the violence said he'd "never seen anything like it".

A police cordon was put up along part of George Street and Wellesley Road after a man, believed to be in his 20s, was stabbed outside Barclays Bank at about 11.55am on Wednesday (June 13).

The shocking incident happened while many shoppers and workers were in the town centre, with one witness saying he saw the man being chased before he was stabbed in the head.

Anthony Johnson said he met the victim earlier in the day, adding he was "polite" and had offered to help him find his phone.

The 42-year-old, from South Norwood, said: “I was waiting for the bus when I saw a man outside of Barclays bank, it looked like he had been punched.

"The guy who had been stabbed was being chased by another guy.

"I’d seen the [victim] earlier in the day and he had asked me for some money, I said no I’m sorry I haven’t got any and told him I’d lost my phone.

“He said he would help me look for it and told me to have a good day, he was polite. So when I saw him again [after the stabbing] I called out to him to see if he was alright.

"I said to him ‘do you know you’re bleeding?’ and then I asked ‘have you been stabbed?’. The back of his head, just above his neck, was bleeding."

Mr Johnson, who went to Sainsbury's to ask for a first aid kit to help the victim, added “he’d never seen anything like it in his life”.

Drops of blood were clearly visible on the ground outside Sainsbury's.

The manager on shift at Sainsbury’s at the time, who asked not to be named, said: “All we saw was a man bleeding outside.

“He didn’t come in here, one of our customers just let us know there was a man bleeding."

Tina Williams was shocked when she saw the police cordon on the busy street on her way home from work.

The 44-year-old said: “You’re just frightened to let your kids out the house these days. I’ve got a 14-year-old daughter who’s scared to come to Croydon.

“She should be able to come out with her friends.

“It’s a really sad state of affairs that we are living with these days.”

A George Street worker, Ali Safi, said it wasn't the first time such a violent incident had happened in the area.

When asked if he thought it was shocking, he said: “To be honest with you no, look how busy it is [along George Street]. It’s like Oxford Street, there is a lot of footfall around here.

“It’s not the first time this has happened [on George Street]. I’ve seen violence here before.”

Mr Safi said he thinks more of a visible police presence is needed in the town centre.

“There should be more police walking down here,” he added. “Just one walking up and down either side, that’s all it takes. This is a busy, busy place.”

Following the attack, Croydon Central MP, Sarah Jones has also called for more to be done.

She said: “I’m very sad to hear that a man has been stabbed.

“We don’t know the circumstances of this case but the root causes of knife crime are clear and we’re not doing enough to tackle them.

“I would urge anyone with any information to get in touch with the police on 101.

“We all know that knife crime is rising across the country and I am doing all I can to get the government to act.”

After the stabbing, some tram services were suspended and certain shops closed while the large police cordon was in place, including Barclays Bank which put a sign up apologising for having to shut.

It read: “Sorry, but due to circumstances beyond our control, we’re unable to open this branch at the moment.”

Customers and workers at Moss Bros, next to Barclays, were locked inside the shop following the attack.

The victim was taken to a major trauma centre as a "priority" but his condition is not currently known.

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 11.54am to George Street, in Croydon town centre, to reports of a stabbing.

“We sent an ambulance crew, a single responder in a car and an incident response officer to the scene.

“We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

There is no witness protection in UK
Witnesses have no anonymity
Criminal's solicitor know who witnesses are
Witnesses leave courts the same way as criminals families and fellow gang members
Often juries are intimidated

Drug dealers often live in social housing but the social housing landlords almost never evict drug dealers
Decent people are forced out of such areas and yet more drug dealers move in

A MAN has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed outside a kebab shop in Enfield, north London - the third stabbing reported in the capital so far today.

Police and paramedics responded to a report of an injured man in Bounces Road at 1pm.

The 25-year-old victim was attacked in broad daylight in a busy street, police said.

The man is being treated at an east London hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Detectives have urged anyone with information to come forward, adding there are likely more people who witnessed the stabbing who have not come forward.

Detective Sergeant Joel Gregory of Enfield CID said: “This incident happened at a busy location outside Best Kebab.

“I am confident that there are people who witnessed this incident who have not come forward.

“If you saw the stabbing taken place and have not yet spoken with police please do call us.”

No arrests have been made so far and enquiries are ongoing, the force said.

The attack in Enfield comes on the same day as two separate stabbings were reported across London.

At 1pm this afternoon, a man in his 20s sought help in a shop in Romford, east London after being stabbed.

Police and paramedics responded to the scene in London Road, where enquires led officers to make three arrests.

One suspect, who police said was armed with a "large knife", was chased and detained by an officer.

He was arrested on suspicion of GBH and possession of a bladed article, a Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said.

Two other men have been arrested on suspicion of GBH.

Also today, a man in his 20s was stabbed in Haggerston, east London.

Police and the air ambulance rushed to the scene at Pownall Road shortly after 5.45pm, the Hackney Gazette reports.

4 people stabbed at Garage Nation music festival London

Two men aged 22 and 26 airlifted to hospital while another two treated at scene

Police rushed to Hainault Country Forest Park after reports of multiple stabbings

There has been 81 people murdered in the crime-ridden capital so far this year
Four people have been stabbed at a music festival in East London tonight as the capital's knife bloodbath continues.

Two men aged 22 and 26 had to be airlifted to hospital while another two males were treated at the scene for blade wounds.

Police rushed to Hainault Country Forest Park where thousands of revellers were attending the Garage Nation event after reports of multiple stabbings.

Four men were stabbed in Hainault Country Forest Park where thousands of revellers were attending the Garage Nation event. Pictured: last year's festival

Witness Mel Dee, who saw the incident unfold, tweeted about her horror. She said: 'Just saw someone get stabbed right in front of me at garage nation.

'I've never seen anything like it. Why do people do this? It was honestly the scariest thing I've ever witnessed.

'He got cut so deep I could see like the layers of his skin it was so bad.'

All four of the male victims were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

There have been 81 killings in London this year, many of them stabbings, and at one point the capital's murder rate was higher than that of New York.

Ishak Tacine became London's 81st murder victim when he was beaten to death with baseball bats in Edmonton on Wednesday

That figure has surpassed last year when there was a total of 80 fatal stabbings in the capital - the most in almost a decade.

Official figures show that 2017 was the worst year for knife deaths among young people since at least 2002.

Forty-six people aged 25 or under were stabbed to death in London, up by 21 compared with the previous year, according to police figures.

Three people were arrested after this knife was seized from a group of youths in Lewisham

Scotland Yard published figures earlier this month showing that only one in ten knife robberies and fewer than a quarter of violent crimes involving a bladed weapon were solved in London last year.

Britain's knife crime epidemic has also spread to the Home Counties, with stabbings now more likely in Bedfordshire than in Merseyside.

Hertfordshire, Hampshire, Warwickshire, Norfolk and north Wales' rates of knife crime have all increased by more than 100 per cent in the past three years.
