Three men hurt in Edmonton stabbing

Three men were stabbed as violence broke out in north London

Police were called to Fore Street, in Edmonton, at about 17:30 GMT to reports a group of youths was in possession of weapons.

On arrival, officers were told three men, aged in their 20s, had attended hospital with stab injuries.

One man remains in hospital in a stable condition, while the other two were discharged after treatment for superficial injuries.

No arrests have been made, and officers remain on the scene, the Met Police said.

A section 60 order has been put in place, allowing officers to search anyone in the vicinity of the scene for weapons.

Croydon man jailed for his part in kung-fu assault on police officer

A Croydon man involved in an assault where a police officer was fly-kicked into the path of an oncoming bus has been jailed for almost three years

Martin Payne, 20, of Brighton Road, was out of prison on licence and driving without insurance when his car was stopped routinely in Merton on November 17.

Attempting to escape, Payne wrestled a male officer on the floor, while his passenger Kersan Euell, 20, kung-fu kicked an assisting female constable, causing head injuries.

Euell also fractured PC John Collins’ ribs as he attempted to free his accomplice.

Today, Judge Plaschkes sentenced the pair to a collective six years in prison, describing them as a “serious risk of harm” to the public.

"This was a serious and sustained group violence, motivated by a desire to evade justice, against a police officer carrying out his duty,” she said, addressing Payne.

Turning to Euell, she said: "You intentionally and with considerable force kicked a police officer to the ground and into the path of oncoming vehicles.

“You left her lying in the road and returned to continue your attack on PC Collins."

Despite being arrested on suspicion of causing GBH, both Payne and Euell were charged with the lesser offence of ABH.

They entered guilty pleas, which resulted in reduced sentences.

Judge Plaschkes went on to further described the impact of the attack.

The female officer, who is a mother, did not return to work for more than a month after being attacked by Euell and is considering early retirement.

"PC McGinty was found to have a two-inch long laceration to the back of her head, which was glued by hospital staff.

"For several days after the incident PC McGinty suffered headache and vomiting.

"On November 19, the vomiting and headache became so severe, she was taken to A&E, where she received medication.

"A CT scan was performed, which fortunately did not show any injury to the skull.

"PC Collins suffered muscular pains through his shoulder, sharp pains to the left side of his rib cage and severe headache.

"The abrasion to his knee and the abrasion and bruising to his forehead were photographed.

"His finger was splinted by hospital staff.

"The pains in his chest continued an on November 19, he went to hospital where he was diagnosed with a fractured rib."

Before his guilty plea, Euell told police he was nowhere near the incident and was at his Grandmother's 80th birthday party and had witnesses to back up his story.

He also claimed in mitigation that he was only trying to defend Payne from attack by the police.

Listing out the defendants' previous convictions, which included robbery, violent disorder, assault of a constable and in Payne's an assault with intent to resist arrest, Judge Plaschkes said: "Those antecedents show that Mr Payne was on licence when they committed this offence with a condition which precluded contact with Mr Euell, which is another aggravating factor.

"Mr Euell's licence had only recently expired and he was still under post sentence supervision.

"Both defendants have a long history of failing to comply with court orders.”

Both will serve their terms in a young offender institution.

Chief of police Sally Benetar, who oversees policing in Kingston, Mertom, Richmond and Wandsworth also provided a witness statement for the court.

She said: "Just as it is often said that police officers are not above the law, they are also not above the protection of the law.

"These officers are normal people, they are fathers, mothers, daughters, and sons."

Police were called at 7.26pm to reports of a stabbing on Cherry Orchard Road, at the junction with Addiscombe Road.

Officers attended alongside the ambulance services, finding a man in his 20s suffering slash injuries to his wrists.

Two teenagers stabbed in separate attacks in London

A 15-year-old was attacked in Brixton, south London, at about 19:20 GMT, before another boy, 17, was stabbed in Harrow, north London

Both victims were taken to hospital with "non life-threatening" injuries.

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and remanded in custody on suspicion of attempting to murder the 15-year-old. No-one has been arrested in relation to the second stabbing.

Emergency services were called to the first stabbing on New Park Road, off Brixton Hill, on Saturday evening.

Just before 21:00, officers were called to Harrow & Wealdstone station where they found the 17-year-old with stab injuries.

Police believe he managed to get to the station to seek help after being attacked on nearby Masons Avenue.

A spokesperson for the force said it was keeping an "open mind concerning motive".

Police do not believe the two stabbings are linked.

Islington fatal stabbing:
Teenagers held over man's death

Two teenage boys have been arrested after a man was stabbed to death in a north London street

The victim was found fatally wounded in Caledonian Road, Islington, and pronounced dead.

Emergency crews were called to the scene, close to junction with Tilloch Street, just before 19:00 GMT.

The victim has yet to be identified and a post-mortem examination is due to be held, the Met Police said.

Officers arrested the teenage suspects close to the scene and they have been taken to a north London police station for questioning.

The Met now has a section 60 order in place in the area until 03:00 on Wednesday, giving officers clearance to search anyone they suspect of carrying a dangerous weapon or they suspect serious violence is about to take place.

Moment horrified parents are held back by police as they try to
reach their son, 17, as he lay dying in the street after being fatally
stabbed over his bicycle in eighth murder in the capital this year

Nedim Bilgin, 17, was stabbed to death with a Rambo knife in a fight with a gang

Three teenagers aged 16, 17 and 18 have been arrested over his murder

The boy's parents arrived on the scene an hour after his death and had to be held back by officers as they ducked under police tape to rush to the body of their son

Nedim is the eighth person, and second teenager, killed in London this year
Distraught parents had to be held back by police as they tried to reach their son’s lifeless body as it lay under a tarpaulin in the rain.

Witnesses said Nedim Bilgin, 17, was repeatedly stabbed with a large ‘Rambo-style’ knife when a fight broke out on Tuesday evening after a row with a gang.

Wounded Nedim – who was just a few hundred yards from his home in Islington, North London – tried to stagger into a nearby shop before collapsing to the pavement.

Andrea Alexander said: ‘Before the ambulance arrived there were three men trying to save his life, and his friends ran to his house to get his mum, who arrived soon after.’

Ben Lynch, 18, a lifeguard who gave first aid to Nedim, told the London Evening Standard: ‘I was at a bar across the road and heard a bunch of people screaming.

I sprinted across the road and saw blood all over the pavement and this boy bleeding out. I lifted up his shirt and started pressing down. I tried giving him CPR. I did as much as I could to help him.’

Police confirmed Nedim was stabbed several times and that two knives were later recovered from the scene.

Witness Christopher Chambers-Russell saw Nedim’s mother and father arrive just over an hour after the stabbing outside a Ladbrokes bookmakers, and duck under the police tape cordon around their son’s body.

‘Nobody but a mother could cry the way she was,’ he said. ‘It was heartbreaking.

'A man I thought was his father pushed under the tape then the mother followed before they were stopped by police.

'The young guy’s body was just lying in the street under a sheet outside the shops, and they were wailing as they tried to get to him.’

Three teens, aged 16, 17 and 18, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Nedim is the second teenager, and eighth person, to be killed in the capital since the early hours of January 1 this year.

Nedim’s father, Nusret, said he had been told his son was stabbed with ‘a big knife’ through his chest. ‘He’s my lovely boy, my baby,’ he said. ‘I got a missed call last night at about 7pm from his mum, she said something really bad has happened to him and he’s been killed.

‘Nedim doesn’t listen to me and he didn’t listen to his mum. He had some terrible friends who were always problems – fighting and things. He was my baby.’

While it was initially believed the stabbing came after Nedim refused to hand over his bike to muggers, police are now looking into whether it was gang-related.

A friend of Nedim’s insisted he was not involved in gangs. He said: ‘He was a sweet guy, very popular in the area. There are gangs about but he was never part of one.’

Nedim died on Caledonian Road, just yards from where teenager Alan Cartwright was murdered for his bike in 2015.

More young people searching online for Rambo
knives amid safety fears, campaigners say

More young people appear to be searching online for “Rambo knives” and “stabproof vests” because of fears for their safety, campaigners warned today

Moonshot CVE, a company using technology to disrupt extremism, tracked searches in London over a 10-day period earlier in January and identified around 4,500 searches indicating violent intent or “some degree of vulnerability” to gang violence.

It found Google searches for items such as knives and “how to survive a stabbing” jumped after two high profile stabbings in London this month.

The figures emerged after the killing this week of Nedim Bilgin, 17, who was on a street in Islington before being stabbed multiple times with a large “zombie knife”.

The anonymous data showed there were 3,808 searches for bullet-proof and stab-proof vests between January 11 and 20.

It followed two attacks — one in a McDonald’s in Edmonton, when two people were stabbed, and another in Lewisham, when a schoolboy was knifed on his way to school.

The next most popular searches were for “Rambo knife” and “zombie knife” weapons. Other search terms included “join a gang” and “how to leave a gang” as well as “credit card knife,” “machete buy” and “banned drill music.”

The data showed that the online activity took place across London but was concentrated in Camden, Islington, Hackney and Tower Hamlets.

Catriona Scholes, Moonshot project manager and a former Met detective, said: “This data gives us previously unseen insights into the collective psyche of vulnerable individuals in London following specific incidents of knife violence. Increased searches for defensive armour and deadly weapons may be indicative of the pervasive impact of fear following these events.”

She added: “Our research also raises real concerns over the apparent ease with which people can buy deadly weapons online.”

The latest victim’s father claimed today his son had been led astray by some “terrible” friends.

Court records showed that Nedim Bilgin appeared at Blackfriars crown court in August for having an offensive weapon in public, affray and threatening unlawful violence to another person.

He was given a 12-month youth referral order and 12-month criminal behavioural order. He also appeared at Highbury Corner magistrates’ court in September for breaching bail conditions which required that he did not enter a youth project in Islington or associate with four named youths.

Scotland Yard said today that two teenagers, aged 17 and 16, arrested in connection with the 17-year-old’s murder had been released pending further inquiries. Police were continuing to question an 18-year-old man.

Moonshot — which works with Google to promote positive messages to individuals at risk of extremism and violence — said their research suggested a large volume of users were under 18.

2 youths sustain knife injuries in west London attack

Two youths, believed to be in their teens have been attacked in west London

Police were called to Feltham by the London Ambulance Service at around 2.30pm to reports that a male had been stabbed in the area of Harlington Road East.

The victim, believed to be in his late teens, was taken to a south London hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police then received another call a short time later, saying a second male, believed to be in his mid teens, had been slashed on Hounslow Road.

The victim has been taken to hospital for slash wound injuries which are thought to be non-life threatening.

It is believed the two victims may have been attacked in Feltham Park.

Hussun Youseff, manager of Lahore restaurant in Hounslow Road, told My London that he helped one boy with stab wounds.

He said: "I was the first one there. I was the one who called the police. There was a 15 or 16-year-old boy who had been stabbed. He was bleeding."

Police are investigating whether the two assaults are linked, and no arrests have been made.

Sickening moment county lines drug dealer, 18,and
his gang mowed down innocent music producer
in stolen BMW before they hacked him to death

Five teenagers have been convicted of hacking Lord Promise Nkenda to death
Among them was Ephraim Idris, 18, who had sold drugs in a county lines gang
All five defendants each denied murder but were jailed for life at the Old Bailey
The court heard how men drove a stolen BMW at Mr Knenda, 17, in east London
This is the shocking moment a county lines drug dealer and four other teenagers mowed down an aspiring music producer in a stolen BMW before hacking him to death.

Lord Promise Nkenda, 17, was with two friends when the stolen BMW roared towards them in what police believe was a case of mistaken identity.

CCTV footage shows how his two friends managed to dive out of the way, but Promise was thrown up onto the bonnet as the black BMW ploughed into a wall.

Despite the impact, the teenager was able to jump off the hood and run away and down the road in Canning Town, east London, the Old Bailey heard.

But the BMW followed him before four of those inside the car jumped out and chased Promise down an alley, stabbing him 15 times in the head, face, chest, arm and thigh.

Ephraim Idris, Anton Muir, Ishaq Abdille, Shemar Dawes, all 18, and a 15-year-old who cannot be named, each denied murder but were all convicted after a six-week trial.

Abdille and Dawes were detained for life with a minimum term of 18 years.

Idris, who was cleared of the murder of another 17-year-old six months before, was handed a minimum term of 16 years.

Muir was sentenced to at least 17 years and the 15-year-old, who was 14 at the time of the murder, was given a minimum of 14 years.

10521053

It emerged today Idris stood trial for the murder of college student Duran Kajiama, 17, who was stabbed to death in Dagenham, east London, in November 2016.

Idris was cleared of murder by a jury while another youth, 17, was convicted of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility and jailed for 12 years.

As a result Idris was wearing an electronic monitoring tag at the time Mr Nkenda was killed.

'Idris became involved in selling drugs, he was convicted of what is now known as county lines supply of drugs down in Exeter,' said Alan Kent, prosecuting.

'He stood no chance against that car and equally he stood no chance against the four who chased him down the alleyway and stabbed him to death,' said Mr Kent.

'He would appear to have been a victim of mistaken identity because there is no evidence to connect him with any of these defendants at all.

'There would appears to be a significant degree of planning or pre-meditation. They turned off their mobile handsets in order to avoid detection by cell site data.'

The prosecutor said the attackers had taken at least one knife to the scene and had worn disposable gloves in an attempt to hide their fingerprints and DNA.

Mr Nkenda's brother, Patrick Nkenda, told the court: 'He was my baby brother and a gift from God.

'I am still in a state of disbelief that this has happened - I keep expecting to wake up from this endless nightmare.

'This incident means that, not only have we had Promise taken from us, it has destroyed our family.

'Promise died in a sustained and frenzied knife attack - he died, cold and alone, in the street.

'We feel empty and numb, a part of us all died alone with Promise on that east London street.'

Mr Nkenda told how his mother suffered a stroke shortly after hearing that her youngest child had been killed by 'a pack of animals'.

Police and paramedics battled for half an hour to save him, but the teenager was pronounced dead at 8.38pm.

After the ambush, the killers returned to the BMW, which had been stolen in a 'car-jacking' less than two hours before the murder, jumped in and sped off.

When the car crashed a second time on Victoria Dock Road, the five ran off towards Tolgate Road and split off into two groups to continue their getaway.

Idris admitted being in the vicinity of the murder scene after his tag was recorded in a nearby road but denied playing any part in the attack.

But Idris' DNA was also found on a sheath matching a knife that bore another sample matching that of Promise.

Muir was in phone contact with Idris and the youngest boy in the hours leading up to the killing and also admitted being at the scene after call records put him in the area.

A bag containing a quantity of cannabis, an Oyster Card registered to the 15-year-old and a drinks carton bearing his fingerprint were retrieved from the stolen car.

He also admitted being present at the scene but similarly denied acting as part of the group which murdered Promise.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Whellams, from Scotland Yard, said: 'This group acted together from start to finish to execute this murder.

'They were ruthless in their determination to kill Promise and have refused to co-operate with police from the outset.

'Promise had his whole life ahead of him and wanted to pursue a career in the music industry.

'He stood no chance against the onslaught this group inflicted on him.

'The ages and determination of those involved - a boy who was 14 at the time of the attack and a group of other teenagers - is chilling.'

Shocking cache of 5 deadly blades found on boy aged just 14...
but he's let back onto London's streets with £20 fine despite
bloody knife epidemic with 70 stab deaths last year

The 14-year-old boy in Islington, north London, was carrying five huge blades

Someone saw him brandishing one knife in Highbury Quadrant and called police

He has pleaded guilty to possessing the weapons but escaped any jail term

Sentence comes just as Home Secretary announce anti-knife 'ASBO' powers
A 14-year-old boy found in possession of five deadly weapons has walked free from court in the same week the Home Secretary promised to get tougher on the scourge of knife crime on Britain's streets.

This shocking picture shows the five huge combat knives police found when they stopped the teen, in north London last month.

The child's arsenal of weapons included four knives with blades approximately a foot long, and three with the serrated rear edge which is the hallmark of so-called 'zombie knives'.

Yet the boy escaped custody, instead being referred to a youth offending panel for ten months and being ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.

His sentence was handed down in the same week Home Secretary Sajid Javid announced new Asbo-style orders designed to tackle spiralling knife violence.

The new Knife Crime Prevention Orders could be issued to anyone aged 12 or over who is believed by police to routinely carry a blade and can impose curfews or even limit social media access.

Anyone found in breach of the civil orders could be sentenced to up to two years in prison upon conviction.

The slap-on-the-wrist sentence comes in the wake of new ONS figures which reveal offences involving bladed weapons have leapt eight percent in a year.

Last year ended with more than 130 murders in the capital city, 70 of which involved a knife or blade.

The total number of offences involving a knife or bladed instrument recorded by police in the year to March 2018 rose to 40,147, a seven-year-high.

And there was 1,299 stabbings in London in the year to April 2018, according to the Met Police.

The boy's cache of weapons was revealed as two more teens stabbed in London and a teen gang, one only 15, are due to be sentenced for the knife murder of 17 year old Lord Promise Nkenda.

Officers were called to Highbury Quadrant, a low rise estate in Islington north London after a concerned member of the public saw the boy brandishing a knife one Sunday afternoon last month.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was stopped and searched and police made their shocking discovery.

The youth was arrested following the search at 2pm on January 13 and appeared at Highbury Corner youth court on January 29.

He pleaded guilty to five counts of possession of an offensive weapon, namely a combat knife.

He was referred to Haringey youth offending panel for a 10 month contract and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge. The court also ordered destruction of the knives.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: 'We were initially called by a member of the public who had seen the male with a knife.

'A stop and search followed by officers at around 2pm in Highbury Quadrant on Sunday 13 January.

'A 14 year old male from Haringey was charged with five counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

'He appeared on bail at Highbury Corner Magistrates court on January 29.

'He was referred to a Haringey youth offender panel for a contract having effect for 10 months and a victim surcharge of £20.'

A court spokesperson added: 'He pleaded guilty. There was also a destruction order made for the knives.'

Terrifying moment teenager wearing skull mask threatens train passengers with huge knife in south London

Tyron Franka told people on board a Southern Rail train “you’re getting ganked” before robbing them at knife-point last November.

Franka, of Gomshall Gardens in Kenley, Croydon, has been jailed for five years after a series of robberies.

This youth should be locked up for a minimum of 10 years

The 18-year-old was also caught on camera robbing someone of an Armani bag between Purley Oaks and Kenley train stations after threatening to stab them.

The next day Franka snatched a phone from someone, before telling them “skidaddle before I get a knife out”.

In November, the teen also robbed two boys while wearing the frightening skull mask.

Detective Sergeant Joanna Montague, of British Transport Police, said: “Passengers, most of whom were young teenagers, were undoubtedly very intimidated by Franka’s actions.

“His behaviour and his reckless decision to carry and threaten people with a knife are all reflected in the severity of his sentence.

“This case is an excellent example of the strength that CCTV plays in bringing offenders to justice.

Franka pleaded guilty to four counts of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

Battersea stabbing: Teenager, 19,
knifed to death near Prince George's
primary school in south-west London

A murder probe has been launched after a teenager was stabbed to death close to Prince George's primary school in south-west London

Police and the London Ambulance Service were called after reports of an attack in Battersea on Tuesday night.

Paramedics worked desperately at the scene in Westbridge Road to save the victim, a 19-year-old man, but he was declared dead.

A spokesman for the police confirmed no arrests had been made and a crime scene was put in place after the violent attack.

Another stabbing in Battersea, Central London. Terrible terrible news. There are consequences to the decisions that have been made to policing, to services. This requires collective action, we know we can do tackle this better and save lives.
Police were called at 7.50pm and medics battled to save the victim for 45 minutes at the scene.

Images showed a forensic tent erected in the street, which was cordoned off amid the police investigation.

The Met spokesman said: “A murder investigation has been launched in Battersea after a man was fatally stabbed.

"Next of kin have been informed. A crime scene is in place. The Homicide and Major Crime team has been informed.

“There has been no arrest. Enquiries continue.”

The scene is near to the school Thomas's Battersea, where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge send their son Prince George.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that half of all knife crime offenders in London are teenagers are even younger children.

Police statistics showed that 41 per cent of those being caught for knife crimes across London’s boroughs are now aged between 15 and 19.

Remember the £20 fine a boy
received for carrying all these knives

Most of these youths live in social housing - they must be evicted

Most of the drug dealers live in social housing - they must be evicted

Already there are numerous social housing estates which are no-go areas for white people

Worse than that:

Many of those estates are also no-go areas for emergency vehicles, ambulances and fire engines need police protection

Pizzas cannot be delivered and taxis cannot pick up fares

People are afraid to use public transport

Bus drivers live in fear

Women and older people rush to get home before dark

Homes on and near social housing estates have extra security and most on the estates have metal panels on their doors and security grills on the windows

Two arrested after man stabbed to death in south-west London

Killing in Battersea comes just hours after police appeal for witnesses to two earlier knife attacks

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenager was fatally stabbed in south-west London, Scotland Yard said.

The men, aged 19 and 27, were arrested after presenting themselves at a central London hospital. Both men were taken to separate central London police stations for questioning.

Police said they were called to reports of an incident in Battersea shortly before 8pm on Tuesday and found a 19-year-old man with stab wounds.

Despite the efforts of paramedics from the London ambulance service, he died about half an hour later. He has yet to be formally identified and a crime scene remained in place.

The murder investigation came only hours after detectives appealed for information from witnesses to two more stabbings elsewhere in the city.

Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, police had issued an appeal for information about knife attacks on two more teenagers, who were wounded in the Feltham area of south-west London on Sunday. Officers believe those attacks were linked, though no link to the Battersea incident has been suggested.

Officers said they were called by the London ambulance service shortly before 2pm on Sunday. Paramedics had found the first victim, who police believe to be aged in his late teens, and he was taken to a south London hospital.

A short time later, officers said they were made aware of a second victim, believed to be aged in his mid-teens. He was suffering from slash wounds and was also taken to hospital. Neither victim’s injuries are believed to be life-threatening, Scotland Yard said on Tuesday.

The investigation is still in its early stages and there have been no arrests.

The Battersea murder is the latest in a spate of killings in the capital in recent months. Last year in London 135 people were murdered or unlawfully killed – the largest number in a calendar year in a decade. Data gathered by the Guardian showed the majority were stabbed and more than two-fifths of all the victims were men under 30.

If they had not have gone to hospital with their wounds, they would never have been caught
