(Sorry for late reply - had forgotten the thread! )

Thank you :)

I agree... Wouldn't it be nice to see people walking around in Kurdish clothes in Paris? LOL

Joking :P

But in Kurdistan - we need to take back some of our Kurdish pride... And start wearing Kurdish clothes more! :D

Is that normal in Paris?

Only people who wear their national clothes on the street in everyday life in Norway are the Pakistanis... Well - some Africans too... And I mean those from Somalia! LOL :D

It's nice, yeah... Sure... But you need to wear practical clothes in cities ;)

I would like to see Kurdish girls and boys wearing more Kurdish clothes in Kurdistan... Especially North Kurdistan... :)
They have been deprived of much of their Kurdish identity... They should reclaim this - and make it into a political statement... Who am I kidding, it IS political... :P

Glad you liked it MissIndependent! :)

Actually - I am gonna set up my own homepage soon, I hope... So there might be a slight chance of "make your order here" - if people wanna buy something... :D

Kurdish models? I wish I had some... I am doing a collection now - I haven't named it yet - but it will be very Kurdish... And Kurdish clothes look best on Kurdish people... :P

So if you have the time - please come to Norway the 14th of June - when I will do a photo-session; pictures of the clothes for my homepage... :)

You are welcome to be a model if you like... 8)

Hahahaha

What a nice surprise! :) Do you live in Sweden perhaps? Bor du i Sverige? :)

How cool - 99% of Kurdish girls are drop dead beautiful... SO BEAUTIFUL!!!

So it doesn't surprise me that you are a model! And gald to hear that your family is okey with you being a model... :)

I am gonna do the photo session ca 14th of June... You should come over with some Kurdish friends!!! That would be very nice - because the clothes I have made for the new collection are too elegant and stylish for boring Norwegian girls to wear... :P

I live in Bergen... So it's not so near to Sweden... :P Haha - but only takes an hour by plane!

It's great Diri.. Too bad the video doesn't work. I could make some news about this for Azady and Kurdmedia.
The suppression of ethnic cultures and minority religious groups in attempting to forge a modern nation were not unique to Turkey but occurred in very similar ways in its European neighbours - Bruinessen.

Well my mom owns part of a mens/womens clothing line (inherited) which is based in New Delhi but we export on order to Urban outfitters ,Anthropologie ,Over the Rainbow ,Tobi some other stores. Well my sister and I actually came up with some ideas. My sister actually was influenced by kashmiri fashion and really made it look appealing to the western pallete , I helped a bit , like kurds , kashmiris wear woollen clothing, its VERY similar ,since its mountainous region and men wear a jumpsuit , type similar to kurds , like salwar type but loose even at the ankle , My sister made them in blue and brown rayon and paired them with tiger claw necklaces and ethnic earrings. Paired it with an obi belt( i thats what its called from what she told me) . She made them in like salwar style and wide leg . They were paired with afghan wool beanies . Its funny it was 2.5 years ago , my sister is in medical school wanting to be dermatologist, im trying to finish up my degree and prepare for med school but if you see , salwar type pants are popping , and full sleeved jumpsuits are already popping up.
