June, 2007. According to an Iraqi government employee, in the Hay al-Amiriya quarter a Sunni "Amir" (prince) demanded the car belonging to an Assyrian brother and sister who are orphans; their priest advised them to give up the car, which they did. The "prince" later returned and officially asked for the girl's hand in marriage. The girl had to go into hiding

May, 2007-06-04. In Dora, Baghdad, a predominantly Assyrian neighborhood in south Baghdad, an al-Qaeda "prince" instructed the Christian Assyrians to surrender women to the mosque.

In a report by the Catholic News Agency, Mar Addai II, the Patriarch of the Ancient Assyrian Church of the East, says "Only the families that agree to give a daughter or sister in marriage to a Muslim can remain, which means that the entire nuclear family will progressively become Muslim.

May 3, 1999. Dohuk. The body of Ms. Helena Aloun Sawa, 21, was found in early June by a shepherd, partially buried in a shallow grave in near Dohuk dam. She had disappeared on May 3rd. The decomposed body was partially exposed and appeared to have been partially eaten by scavenging wild animals. She had been working for Azet Al Din Al Barwari, a high ranking member of the political bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, who was
suspected in her murder.

September 16, 1996. Witnesses in North Iraq said that a group of armed PKK Kurdish guerillas abducted a fifteenyear-old Assyrian girl named Ahlam Patrus Nissan from her village. Local farmers and others who witnessed the kidnapping said they saw the girl being carried off with an expression of fear on her face. The PKK admitted that they had the girl but they claim she joined them willfully.
They have refused to allow anyone to speak to her. She was forced to marry her kidnapper and convert to Islam.

January 20, 1996. 13 year-old Janet Oshana, from the village of Mulla-Urab, near the town of Zakho, was kidnapped by a Kurd, Khorshid Othman Kalash. She was never returned to her parents.

January 13, 1996. Wasan Mishael, a 16 year-old Assyrian girl from Simele, was kidnapped at gunpoint from her home. Under extreme emotional and physical pressure and abuse, she was forced to denounce her Christian religion and marry one of her kidnapers.

1993 Mr. Lazar Mati daughter, 15, was kidnapped by a Kurd named Mohamed Babakir and forced to marry him and convert to Islam.

Why is it that the only times we see Assyrians on here is when they have something to rant about?

They'll surely get some Kurdish support towards whatever cause they want if they could just give some support to the Kurdish movement towards independence.

Well as a result you have Kurds, maybe not a lot, but some that do want an independent Assyria. What I'm suggesting is that maybe there should be a higher power that could insure the stability of Assyria from being conquered by a neighboring community. This is why the Subarian Federation would make much sense, at least to me. You can call it the "Great Assyrian Federation" in your own language, since Subarian is only being spoken about in English. Kurds are probably going to use "Great Federation of Kurdistan" in Kurdish. Armenians are probably going to use "Great Federation of Armenia" in Armenian. Azeris are probably going to use "Great Federation of Azerbaijan" in Azeri. Zazais probably are going to use the "Great Kurdistan," "Great Armenia," or "Great Subar" phrase.

And as for supporting Assyria, it would do you a lot of good if you could adopt the Draneian Party and imply it to good use for the Assyrians, since it would be a good opportunity.

The reason why the federation idea works is because any one of these countries would be easily taken over in the future by Iran, Arabia, Russia, or some other imperial force. Why not call it the United States of Subar and in each state you have a smaller federation? Why stick so strongly towards nationalism? It won't be too long till we are all a part of one single government, the United Human Republic of the Earth. That whole event is not that far away and is going to happen in the future whether we like it or not. But that's why we need to have organized divisions that could distribute the power of the Earth Republic into its many regions upon conflicts and such that could occur that don't need the Earth Republic wasting time in managing.

Balci. Your input to this forum is amusing as always it comes from the street gutter brain of yours.
There are long files and documentations on the atrocities committed against the Assyrians by Kurds recorded from the 18c to yesterday. But I am sure you don’t read so I will only provide your kinds with photos. and here is an example:

I believe you are much smarter than this.

Judging by quite a few of your posts I read, I get the impression that you are friendly and supportive of Assyrians, and what pertains to them. Making this kind of bold statement however, says you're not that considerate of Assyrians. That's why you should be careful and refrain from saying things like "99%" because such strong statements means that, from your position, the Assyrians are "99%" of the time liars! It would be wiser to investigate the claims and take them seriously, equal to Kurdish issues, rather than lazily brushing them off as propaganda. Come on Balci :o :?

Don't missunderstand me, friend, my point is that some Assyrians want to put all the Kurds in a dark spot, because some asshole Kurds can't leave you alone, those Kurds are classified as extremist Islamics, and are therefore my enemies. I'm not dishonoring the victims with declining facts that they were killed, but those ''Kurds'' who commit the crimes, can officially be placed under Arab, or just Islamist, they will not be accepted in our society, those are the same Kurds that helped Hussain under Halabce, and still continue to fight us and our freedom.

Please, those people who are slaughtering your people are not Kurds anymore, and they who whine about ''Kurds, killing Assyrians'' have misunderstood the whole point, Who I can hope to correct now.

I believe the only reason some of your fellow Assyrians are here, is just to whine about some extremists who keep messing up, and as said before, I don't support those Kurds, and I can guarantee you, neither do the rest of the forum.

Peace.

You could say they are Islamic rather than Arab. I think Islamic is a better term to relate Hezbollah, Iran, Hamas, and the Extremist Kurds. Or we could say anti-Draneians, since their principles are entirely opposite of the Draneian Ideology.

The thing we have to realize is that we shouldn't try to speak badly about any ethnic group for the evil deeds commited by a relative few people.

Well balci
You can’t pick and choose what you like and what you don’t like. If they are Kurds that’s it they are that…Kurds. You all benefit from their bad deeds being PKK kurds Talabani Barzani PUK KDP Islamist groups...etc To us you all are in one basket all of the above use violence and intimidation for their political and social gain but they do it in different levels. You may say that kidnapping girls is not a big deal, but it is, it is all about power, it is a method of submission of a weaker group to a more larger and violent group. We hear about it in Sudan's DarFur region, we heard about it in Kosovo.
