This man is clearly VERY un-educated in Middleeastern peoples, cultures and religions... He is just one of those rich guys... He should REALLY take a hint.. Even when the Kurd in the computer store tells him that he is KURD and NOT SUNNI... he doesn't take this hint - Most Kurds are FIRST KURDS and THEN Sunni/Shia/Êzîdî....ETC

Diri, really you probly have met several kurds in your life time, and the ones in here. But it is not smart to say that a population over 40,000,000 million holds there heritage, and religion the same way you described.

I don't get your point... Of course Kurds are not the same where ever you go... Some are Islamist, some Kurd nationalist, some communist, some capitalist, some socialist, some liberal, some alternative, some christian, some jew and so on...
I said - most Kurds - have a strong national feeling and count themselves Kurds before considering their respective faiths as lifeguiding...

the guy who wrote this is a journalist. no wonder he doesn't know very much.
however, pictures of dohuk!!!!
mazi market!!! and the bazaar and the area behind the dam! and that wedding car looks like it is driving on that road that goes by the dam.
in that picture taken from the jiyan, you see mountains in the distance. they are thinking of blasting holes in the mountainst to put roads because they want to expand dohuk to the other side of those mountains.
the drive on that road that comes up from mûsil is the best after you pass ayn sifne and you reach the foothills. it is beautiful through there.
