Yes, the Hittites... Are they categorized as "Caucasian"? I don't mean as in "white" but - the Caucasian peoples such as Armenians, Urartians, Hurrians etc...

Yes - you're right... His mother must have been Jewish - if not Salomon wouldn't be considered Jewish... His father was David - so yes, his mother's father could have been a Hittite... :) I'll google him and the Hittites... Thanks!

In residency, he/she received specialize training in field of Psychiatry, also to all rigorous training of medical school in general. And, just like other fields of medical practice such as internal medicine, Psychiatry focus mainly on the use of medication for treatment. Psychiatric training does not alway include training in Psychotherapy and not like training for many Psychologists, Psychiatrists are not require to complete any personal Psychotherapy but many Psychiatrists have pursued training in Psychotherapy too. This training has most often been in area of Psychoanalysis. A Psychologist usually hold doctoral degree (Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D.) from a university or professional school. If he/she is in clinical practice, the degree will be in Clinical Psychology or it may be in Counseling Psychology. With exception of Psy.D. (purely clinical degree), all Psychologists have had extensive training in research, have completed a original scientific study—called a doctoral disertation—as a major part of training. The Psychologists training in research is what most distinguish a Psychologist from other provider of Mental Health treatment. Not only does field of Psychology use research to asess the efectiveness of various forms of treatment, but also any particular Psychologist trained in research should have acquire some solid skill useful for analyzing info and drawing conclusion in Psychotherapy sessions. Do you understand or do I confuse you more? :P

I understand very well. I am very familiar with the differences, they are the same as here.
I have taken many courses in the psychology of persuasion, but as you can see from my posts I have not learned anything from them... :) Thank you for the detail, but you never told exactly what medical psychology was? I asked if it was the same as psychiatry because of the "medical" term. It is a very interesting field to be in. Tell me, who is your favorite psychologist and what theory of psychology do you like or identify with the most?

I think very few people I have ran into would not like psychology as an area of study for school. The problem in USA is that there are so many people studying psychology that it is difficult to get a job once they graduate... I am sure you will give us a lot of insight into many of the things that will be happening in the forum.

:) I think Hittites were probably Caucasian. Some think Hittites were descendants of Sumerians because they used used Sumero-Akkadian cuneiform for their language. Also some think Hattic is related to NW Caucasian (Circassian family)

Erbaa is town and district of Tokat Province.

Some people are so set in their opinions that they will not be persuaded. Remember this to not think it is because you have not learned anything about Psychology of persuasion. Also It takes time and practice to become adept in anything.

I see I didn't answer your question right. Psychiatrists are Medical doctors and Psychologists are not. Medical Psychology is branch of Clinical Psychological practice where Psychologists have added specialized education and training and can prescibe medication in care of management of patients. In Medical Psychology you aply knowledge from all branch of Psychological, Social, Biological medicine in prevention, assesment and treatment of all form of Physical illness and adaptation to illness. Specific behavior, Psychtherapeutic and pharmaceutical methods are use to help people respond to illness and prevent further illness through matching, coping and management skills to the persons ability, character, personality.

My favorite Psychologist is the late Erik Erikson. Have you heard of him? If not, here is information about him:
http://www.erikson.edu/home.asp

I identify most with Personality Theory, Erik Erikson's theory of it.

The suppression of ethnic cultures and minority religious groups in attempting to forge a modern nation were not unique to Turkey but occurred in very similar ways in its European neighbours - Bruinessen.

Ah! Bless you child, that was the perfect answer. Thank you for the comment regarding the persuasion issue, honestly I think that makes a lot of sense. I remember Erikson from the Personality class I took many years ago.
I believe psychology is a deep sea and without the proper guidance I would get very lost. I can see; however, that you are well in depth in your knowledge. Looking forward to seeing more in the future. Yay!
