This is where you can talk about every subject (previously it was called shout room)

is anyone going to sulaimaniyah?

PostAuthor: rachel » Thu Sep 23, 2010 2:18 pm

hello friends,

my partner amir has gone to sulaimaniyah for a couple of months to see his family after many years here in the uk. i have email and text, but i am old-fashioned and romantic and would like to send him a letter! i think posting a letter won't work. (do you know different?) if i'm right, is anyone willing to receive a letter from me to take there? or does anyone have any better ideas?

zor sipas

I think this is a good example of cultural difference! :-) and maybe it is generational too. Of course we talk on the phone and text. But there is something very nice about ink on paper...

its more times difference - nowoadays very few people out if all communicate with the "ink and paper" - of course its nice, but in modern world seem to be a liuttle old fashioned (by the way - i like this old fasion way :D ). and also i think if you know the exact address of the place in Suley where your boyfriend lives - you can send the letter. Kurdistan is not THAT MUCH wild place not to have post service

Hi Rachel,
I think thats sweet.. no one writes letters anymore. I find it more personal, ppl get so lazy with phone calls and emails - sending a really shows truely just how much you care. It's corny but I like it!

hello rache ! how you doing ?
well since i live in Kurdistan region - hewler next to silemani [ sulaimaniyah ] here the POST Offices are active !
for example if our people are gone for Traffic Police training to get Car license for driving after they done every thing they're asking them to give Traffic Officers their address then after 2 or 3 days POST guy will deliver their Driving license that's for governmental sector also there are Privet Sector offices as well doing and delivering things from Europe to Kurdistan vice versa, last year at such time one of my friend delivered a box contains hand writting letters and pictures from Iran through those privet sector post offices if you think that i'm able to help in anyway ! so Me is here . . .
