Hey Sus,
Thank you soooo Much for those links, I think they'll be very usefull. Yeah I know what your saying about learning a new culture, It's kinda hard because I don't actually know any Kurdish people at all. I live in a predominantly white area. I have, since deciding to learn kurdish language (yet to decide what dialect) become REALLY interested in Kurdish culture/history so I'm gonna focus more on the history side. I guess I just wanted to learn some different language to most people, most learn French/spanish/chinese. I suppose i got a side of me thats always gotta be "extra" lol x
I went from the Ignorance of thinkin that Kurdisatan will be like a war zone.. But now I've seen how beautifull it is.

most common dialect/language is spoken by more than half of kurds. kurmanji is gender divided.
second common dialect/language is sorani. sorani is official language of KRG. sorani is not gender divided. Examples of Baris is in sorani :).

Have ya heard of http://www.ferheng.org ? I think that one is decent.

Sus gyan,

Your friends would probably prefer that ya call them Kurds from West Kurdistan, because Syria is unjustly occupying it.
Well, my point of view is the info is still a fact, unfortunately. The Syrian govt doesn't let Kurds have passports, so they're unable to leave. They also are thought of as foreigners even though they were born in so-called Syria...
This info I just found was only posted on ekurd a few months ago: http://www.ekurd.net/mismas/articles/mi ... urd280.htm
Why don't ya post this as a topic on RBK? I think there are some western Kurds here that would know more about this than me.
