Marriage in Suleiymaniah

PostAuthor: elisa » Sun Nov 21, 2010 5:26 pm

Hello good people=)
I am wondering if anyone can tell me anything about how to get married in Suleiymaniah. Background info: I'm a Norwegian christian girl, and my fiancèe is Kurdish muslim from Suleiymaniyah. We so want to get married and start our lives together, but we are currently not allowed to marry in Norway=( he has to go back home,so I was thinking to go with him. But in order for the marriage to be valid for the Norwegian government,we need a civil marriage. Is that possible in Suleiymaniyah? We are thinking of maybe Cyprus. But I would really like it if his family and friends can share this special day with us.
Veeery thankful for answers=)

Civil Marriages are possible in Kurdistan. That shouldn't be a problem in Kurdistan. Economic and social background of his family determine their views towards this marriage. Generally this shouldn't be a problem because such marriages have become common.

If such marriages have become common, and as long as the boy's parents are ok with such a intercultural marriage, a Christian girl can easily marry a Muslim boy? Shouldn't be a problem, you say?

i'd love to but you know in rojhalat sick irania government s will try to force me to cover my head and since i am not going to do what enemy government want - i will go to prison for "crime against God". for the same reason i cant go to Bakur - coz i wear kurdish flag (everywhere :D - on my chain, on my cloths and on my bag) - donkeys will put me in prison for that. So i think we have tio wait untill the rest of territories will get seperate law, like in Bashur.

no, no - everything thwere is 'crime against God'.
yes, its easy to cover the head, but i will not do anything that enemy wants - never.
by the way - if i was the head of Kurdistan i would create the law that every iranian who want to enter Kurdistan must wear red shoes. its also easy
