Talsor your an enviromentalist aren't you bra? I also want to preserve the enviroment, at the same time this can create economic growth. Just look at how much pollution America causes. The enviroment in my opinion is just fine, I think gobal warming is jsut a natural occurance, but ovbiously I may be wrong.

I really cannot understand your mindset sometimes. Anything Uncle Sam does is okay and does not require any questioning?

Of course global warming is a natural occurance. What is not part of this natural process is its exessivity. In my opinion however, the environment is the least of our concerns(as long as it does not happen on a local or regional scale, affecting Kurdistan itself). For the time being, we've got other priorities ahead. The responsibility of our atmosphere lies with the collective of mega-polluters, which unfortunately consists of rival world powers run by a bunch of divided clowns and hypocrites.

Kurdistan is unique and wonderfully preserved .Too much development without actually researching the environmental impact could be disastrous . A typical kurdish home can be build and demolished with little or no impact on the environment . But the so called modren house with their tainted chines drywalls , plastic , lead paint (the list goes one ) is a horrible choice for a home .

Offtopic: The new apartment blocks currently being constructed don't actually look so bad at all. They resemble typical Mediterranean flats, which are okay imo. What really makes me near to vomiting are the large houses being built on the periphery of Erbil and Slemany. They look like they've been shipped in one sinlge piece from an elite American suburb. These buildings don't belong in the Middle-East, let alone Kurdistan.

Azamat what do you mean you don't understand my mindset? Its simple, why should we even bother helping the enviroment when America and China are the worst offenders and don't gie a crap. I mean when you try, you think whats the point when you say how much their polluting. It just feels useless.

Heval Talsor - actually i have mixed feelings about that project. At the one hand i am proud that in Kurdistan there are modern places, which proof that the country is developing, but at the other hand - i wouldnt like if Kurdistan loose its unique spirit following the western style. I know some changes are necessary and people deserve to have a possibility to do shopping in modern shopping malls or have fun in places like Family Fun in Helwer. I think the key is to keep everything in proper balance - still Kurdistan is a place where ancient and modern are existing in harmony - i hope it will be kept like that.
When i was in Hewler my sister Sazan xan told me - "you have to see Family Fun", but to be honest i would rather prefer to go to pure kurdish sites, like for example Prdi Delal in Zaxo - simply because places like Family Fun i can see anywhere in the western world, but Delal is something special, unique.
I think the good example of how modern style can be kept in harmony with kurdish style is Parki Shar by Qalla and the area around it - its quite modern, but at the same time you can feel original kurdish spirit there.
