I am seriously thinking of relocating to Irbil :D

I love heat and I have had my central heating on almost every single day so far this year

I am sure that I will receive a massive heating bill :ymsick:

Kurds need MARKETING X(

The protests in Istanbul are being reported in the world's media - the same media that has NEVER shown any genuine interest in Turkey's attempt to destroy Kurds along with their language and culture X(

If there are any Kurds at all involved in the Istanbul protest, NOW is the time for them to REMEMBER that they actually are KURDS and they should REALISE that the destruction of Hasankyf is of far greater IMPORTANCE than a few trees in Istanbul :-s

To Kurds in Istanbul I suggest you join in with the protesters, and wave banners and placards saying:

SAVE HASANKYF

1 June

It did not rain at all today :ymparty:

I refuse to put my heating on again until October :D

We have VERY short summers in England

My personal campaign for this month is to remind Kurds about Hasankyf because most of them seem to have forgotten all about it X(

Everything that was Kurdish or in the Kurdish region is either being taken over or destroyed by Turkey :ymsick:

2 June

Lovely warm weather today and just heard my oldest friend is getting married soon :ymparty:

My keyboard does not work properly - probably too much marmalade under the keys - or perhaps it was the chocolate cake I ate last night :ymdevil:

Day 2 of my Save Hasankyf campaign

Changed the heading on my post to:

Kurds stop support Turks protest support Kurds save Hasankyf

Hope that everyone will view it on: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12734

Please add ideas and information on the topic :ymapplause:

Sadly not a lot of people have shown any interest in Hasankyf

Kurds should wake up and realise that if they put a little more effort into saving Hasankyf they would receive a great deal of publicity :ymhug:

Kurds NEED publicity :ymsigh:

What should be North Kurdistan should be about what 25 million people want, not just for themselves but for their grandchildren 8-|

Certainly 2 men should not have the power to destroy the Kurdish dream of freedom and unity :-o

YES I did write 2 men - if Turkey ever allows same sex marriage Ocalan and erDOGan will be the first couple to marry :o)

6 June

6pm 6 June 2006 a friend of mine killed himself :((

He was a Kurd from what we hoped would be North Kurdistan. He was a lovely man who spent a lot of time helping other people :x

For years he had the same girlfriend who he loved dearly but his family prevented him from marrying her X(

Eventually, she went away to university and left him behind. They kept in touch but he was never really happy without her

I do not know why he killed himself - I had diner with him about 3 days before he killed himself and he seems happy - we spoke of his ex-girlfriend - they kept in touch with each other - he had got his life together and even spoke about us working together :ymhug:

Then he was gone :((

8 June

Dry, sunny but a cool north wind :-o

I started my diet this morning :D

Then ate strawberries and cream for lunch :ymdevil:

Found chocolate cakes in cupboard - no idea who put it there - I had to move it to get to the tea behind - once it was in my hands it was doomed B-)

If Kurds do not break free from Turkey the most magnificent structure in the entire world will forever be

T U R K I S H

12,000-Year-Old Gobekli Tepe

Image

What was so important to these early people that they gathered to build (and bury) the stone rings? The gulf that separates us from Gobekli Tepe’s builders is almost unimaginable.”

Smithsonian Reporter Andrew Curry

If you start looking into the religious ideas of cultures and indigenous civilizations, you’ll find that the star Deneb, Cygnus constellation, in the Milky Way’s Dark Rift was seen as a point of entry and exit into the sky world. It was seen as this is where the souls came from and this is where the souls return to in death.”

Andrew Collins, Author, The Cygnus Mystery © 2006/2007

12,000-year-old circles of limestone pillars each weighing from 10 to 20 metric tons or more have been excavated in Gobekli Tepe, Turkey, about 9 miles (15 km) northeast of Sanliurfa, formerly known as Urfa or Edessa. More than twice the age of Mesopotamia, 40 standing T-shaped columns have so far been revealed in four circles between 30 feet and 98 feet (10 to 30 meters) in diameter. Ground-penetrating radar indicates there are still 250 more pillars buried in 16 circles extending over another 22 acres of the 30-acre Neolithic site.

German archaeologist Klaus Schmidt began scraping away dirt from the hill in 1994. His dig’s careful carbon dating and soil compression analysis - combined with ground-penetrating radar - have revealed nearly 300 thin, elegant, T-shaped limestone pillars were placed 12,000 years ago in circles covering 30 acres. Then a thousand years later, the entire mysterious site was covered back over with soil for unknown reasons until it was uncovered again in 1994 by Klaus Schmidt.

Anthea: I do not know who made these structures are for, nor do I know why they were made :-\

But I do know that now Kurds have given up any hope of a North Kurdistan, this wonderful 12,000 year site with it's 300 thin, elegant, T-shaped limestone pillars set in circles covering 30 acres of traditional Kurdish homeland, will forever be
