the paper talks about an illness that makes her swelling. So I wonder why she needs a gastric band for lymphedema which has nothing to do with feeding. They say also she has a diet of 1200 calories, that is not much. So the whole story is not clear.

There is absolutely no way she is only eating 1200 calories a day - and as you so rightly point out she would not need a gastric band for lymphedema

There is a reason she is fat - it is the same reason that I look slightly pregnant - we eat too much :ymdevil:

One day I will give birth to a chocolate Easter egg and she will just go BANG

@ Piling:

Have you noticed that the men on this forum are not actively interested in losing weight - yet in the real world Kurdish men are fatter than the women :ymdevil:

Today I am going to try an American hash dry, as a brunch : smashed potatoes and corned beef, plus poached egg. Sounds very special :-?

I love risky experimentations.

Do not forget the Kasher sacrifice, that's the same taboo concerning blood. I am not sure that Halal/Kasher is more cruel than ordinary way to kill in a simple slaughterhouse.

As a French I can not criticize because of 'foie gras' :-s

Halal/Kasher butchers are often not even properly trained butchers and they cause the animals a great deal of stress X(

BAN HALAL MEAT FROM ENGLAND

England is a nation of animal lovers we do not want such torture and cruelty here X(

I have subscribed to a diet program and I adapt it according to my own tastes (there are several alternatives)

MY OWN PROGRAM (1500 calories).

My own choice for Monday :

Breakfast
Coffee, sugar, 2 slices of bread (40g), a piece of cheese, 1 egg.

Snack : there might stay Easter chocolate eggs in the library ;;) :ymdevil:

Dinner :
vegetables soup (1 or 2 bowls)
Turkey meal
2 slices of bread.

PLUS :
On the program they propose other alternative breakfasts :

tea or coffee (1 cup and 1 sugar)
1 bowl of skimmed milk
3 fistful of sugarless cereals
1 fruit

and a lunch (I do not eat at lunch) :
salad of carrots, salmon, rice, 1 yoghurt with 2 teaspoon of honey.

Some tricks for dietetic recipes :

Vegetables, chicken and curry : no need to add fat. Just a boiling bunch of vegetables and a chicken leg (or a whole) for the broil. Add salt, pepper, many curry spices, a slice of lemon. You can add also a yoghurt at the end.

Turkey with curry and yoghurt : cutting in large cubes a piece of turkey meat, make them cooked a bit with 10 g of butter, onions during 1-3 mn, then add a glass of water, salt, pepper, curry, hot chili, and a yoghurt. Let them shimmering during 30 mn.

Smashed potatoes (purée) : let potatoes in boiling water until they are tender . Then smashed them, add a cup of milk or sour cream, salt, nutmeg powder.

BLT : excellent for a snack or a brunch. Just a sandwich with mayonnaise, tomato, lettuce and bacon (My trick : put the bread in the oven with the bacon, then both will be roasted without fat ; then make the sandwich : bread, a teaspoon of mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, bacon, lettuce, bread and mayonnaise.

Soup of mushrooms and asparagus : in 750 ml of boiling water, put asparagus and mushrooms with a stock cube, until they are ready to eat. Then mix all the vegetables in the water. Add salt, pepper, and a spoon of sour cream. Eat with hot roll.

mushrooms omelette : cooked in a span with 10 g of butter 200g of mushroom. Whipped 2 eggs in a bowl, add salt and pepper, and some herbs if u like. Then pour the eggs on the mushroom, let them in the span until they are cooked (3 mn or more if you don't like raw eggs).

I checked the calories of all these recipes and tested them : that is ok. :D

Perhaps I should try mashed potato with curry instead of rice :-?
