About War, I already said that it was ackward for me: I wanted security for Kurds and end of Saddam, but I knew that Bush would only bring massacres in the rest of Iraq. I think it should have been an united nation force, but US would not have agreed not to lead it...

I explain it (in an objective way) :

Bretagne (the region where live Breton) is a far western peninsula in france, where lived people speaking Briton (with several dialects) and French in Eastern Bretagne. Some independantists claim they have been assimilated during the 20the century for in school it was forbidden to speak dialects or regional language, and they want to have their own state. As Basque Country and Corsica. But they are very few, independantist parties have only less than 2% in elections. Moreover, other people ask a kind of federalism, authonomy, and so on.

Some Basques and Bretons claimed to have persecuted like Kurds but it is a great exageration. It was a cultural oppression, though it had never been forbidden to speak in private another language than French or even to publish in other languages. But Regionalists want a federal system, as in germany or italia or in Nederland (I learned from Vladimir'spaper the special status of Frisons).

French Republic is very jacobinist (one state, one language, on school), so it has to adapt itself to the new federalist models in EU.

Reacting violently to this assmilation, some Bretons like Tom, or Basques, state they are not french but "occupied" ? The problem is that most of their compatriots don't want te bo independant !

Moreover, ETA (Basque independandists) are crazy ppl, murderers and anti-democratic ( a bit PKK, in fact ) and Movements of liberation in Corsica are only mafiosi.

I'm Breton, it's a different people with a different history and culture. I don't like France because it is a fake democracy and it has always been against cultural rights. I don't call myself French because I don't feel french, I'm Breton, and a I have french citizenship, juste like you have iranian one or a Kurd from turkey is "only" turk citizen on his I.D.

CLAIM? that's not an "independantist" claim, that's a fact it was forbidden, it is still not an official language and very hard to learn at school.
It's no "claim" to say that, just historical fact, with many living people who can confirm, text of laws....independantist are a small minority, people defending briton culture are much more important.

I never heard that, that would be stupid anyway. But I can say that France model was a great source of inspiration for turkey: forbidding languages, calling people speaking it "underdevelopped", changing villages names, changing people name, forbidding first names, all has been done in France
The Difference is that they never sent the army to Brittany! (well not in the XX century anyway, before it is something else...), they use a better tactif: putting briton soldier in first line with senegalese during WWI. 250 000 were killed.

I don't react "violently", I just don't feel french. I don't give a fuck about this stupid patronizing, racist, hypocritical country, who pretends to defend "cultural diversity" in the world while killing languages on its territory.

And I don't even want to be independant! I would love Federalism though. Cultural and political rights in Europe, not being forced to be represented by parisian political men...

Yeah right, and Turkey will become federalist as well. I think it is hopeless. The republican model is a huge failure, but no one talk about reform or federalism. They're so convinced to be right that nothing can be done. I don't hope anything from France. To get something you have to use violence, like in Corsica, and we're not like that. So nothing will come. And I won't feel french, this is a liberty I have!
