As the weeks turn into months
World leaders are still in a quandary about how to help solve the problems in Iraq
Unable to turn back time and prevent all the atrocities the Shiite government meted out on the Sunni population - most of Iraq is now suffering the consequences - and may well do so for the foreseeable future
As I have said all along - kick a dog enough time it will eventually turn round and bite
Shiite treated the Sunnis as dogs and did a great deal of metaphorical kicking over a number of years - they deserve to be bitten
The Shiite government should have been taken to International court for their imprisonment, rape, torture and murder of
INNOCENT Sunni women
Had the International community taken action against the Baghdad government at that time - the Sunnis would have been far less likely to allow the Islamic State to gain a foothold in Iraq
But though the Shiite's despicable treatment of the Sunni population was blatantly obvious - until the Islamic State came to their aid (which is how many Sunni view I.S.) - nobody came to their assistance
As the Islamic State becomes more entwined with the Sunni community inside Iraq the big question is:
What is the international community able to do?It cannot give the oppressive Shiite government weapons to use against the Sunni population
It cannot give the oppressed Sunni's weapons to use against the government because of the Islamic State's entanglement with the Sunni population
It should have helped the Sunnis years ago
In fact America should
NOT have pulled out and allowed the Shiite government to gain control over the Sunni population
America should have made sure that both Sunni and Shiite had equal rights within Iraq and withinh the Iraqi government
As soon as the Shiites in Baghdad started their rein of terror against the Sunnis - America should have intervened
As I have already stated elsewhere:
But for the Islamic State infiltration within the Sunni population - America would have had to support the Sunnis against the dictatorial and oppressive Shiite governmentNow all anyone can do is support the Kurds
