Turkey does not care about ancient sites it has destroyed many ancient site on Kurdish land within Turkish borders - the most terrible of of these include HASANKEYF where ancient cave dwellings have been blown up and the entire area faces being submerged.
Turkey is also destroying ancient Kurdish villages inside Turkish borders. Turks are barbaric savages seeking to destroy all that Kurds hold dear. I expect it was done intentionally in order to demoralize Kurds in that region. If Turks do not care about killing innocent civilians, then they certainly will have no qualms about destroying ancient monuments.
As it is hard for you having visited and fallen in love with such sites - so it must be many times harder for those living there - and that I believe is Turkey's intention - upset the Kurds, make them fight back, give Turkey more reason to destroy them
