Freedom of Kurdistan far more important
    than Freedom of Ocalan
Kurds have been sold out AGAIN

PKK Declares Ceasefire - Linked to Ocalan’s Release

The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) has declared a ceasefire in response to a message from its imprisoned leader, Abdullah Ocalan, while making his release a condition for holding a congress to dissolve the group.

In a statement released on Saturday, the PKK’s Executive Committee described Ocalan’s February 27 message as a “modern manifesto” outlining a path toward freedom and democracy.

“It is important that its contents be successfully implemented. Therefore, everyone must fulfill their duties and responsibilities,” the statement read.

The PKK emphasized its commitment to abiding by Ocalan’s call but insisted that democratic political conditions and a legal framework must be ensured for the process to succeed.

“From now on, we declare a ceasefire to demand peace and a democratic society. None of our forces will engage in armed activities unless we are attacked,” the statement added.

The group also expressed its willingness to hold a congress but stated that Ocalan himself must oversee the process.

On February 27, the Imrali delegation publicly read Ocalan’s message in both Kurdish and Turkish following a meeting with him in prison.

Outgoing Mardin Mayor Ahmet Türk delivered the statement, stressing that the PKK was formed when democratic avenues were blocked and that peace and democracy should now be prioritized.

Ocalan’s message called on the PKK to lay down its arms, convene a congress, and ultimately dissolve. He also stated that he would take responsibility for the decision and guarantee the peace process.

Abdullah Öcalan’s freedom must be ensured

      NO
Lawyer Mehdi Özdemir spoke about isolation, the 'right to hope,' and Abdullah Öcalan's 'Call for Peace and a Democratic Society'. He said: "Hope has emerged for the implementation of certain regulations addressing the key issues at the root of the Kurdish question and the establishment of social peace as a step toward a lasting solution to this problem."

We are cautious, but hopeful

Lawyer Özdemir recalled that ceasefires had been declared since the 1990s, particularly during the years 2013 and 2015, and that at times, peace processes had been initiated. However, he pointed out that "the outcome has always been negative." He attributed this negativity to a state policy that aimed not to resolve the Kurdish issue but rather to perpetuate it.

"We want to approach the current process with the awareness that it is not the same as before. Yes, we are cautious, but we have always had hope for peace, and we still do at this stage," he said.

Isolation continues to be an obstacle

Lawyer Özdemir noted that the perpetuation of problems created through unlawful means is a state policy and continued: "Isolation can be described as the social isolation of a person in prison, but from a political perspective, the purpose of the isolation imposed on Mr. Abdullah Öcalan is much broader.

Essentially, it is an obstacle preventing him from fulfilling his role and responsibilities. When evaluated within the framework of a new roadmap, he is the sole interlocutor in the resolution of the Kurdish issue. In order for him to fulfill this role, his physical conditions must be liberated, and he must have access opportunities that allow him to take on his responsibilities."

Lawyer Özdemir underlined that "ensuring the ‘right to hope’ and creating the possibility of conditional release would mean providing the means and conditions for him to fulfill his role and responsibilities. In this regard, urgent legal amendments must be made to eliminate the injustice surrounding Mr. Abdullah Öcalan and thousands of other prisoners."

Ocalan is under complete control of the Turkish state

As we keep being reminded, Ocalan is in isolation, cut off from the world and totally unaware of what is going on

Ocalan's name is being used to destroy the PKK from within

Along with the destruction of the PKK, go the destruction of the Kurdish NATION and all hope of a FREE KURDISTAN

DEM Party arrives in Western Kurdistan

A delegation from the Turkey-based anti-Kurdish Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) has arrived in Western Kurdistan to attend the intra-Kurdish conference scheduled for Saturday

DEM Party said in a statement on X that their senior member Serhat Eren and lawmakers Saliha Aydeniz, Gulcan Kacmaz and Mehmet Kamac as well as Keskin Bayindir, the co-chair of DEM Party’s sister party, Democratic Regions Party (DBP), arrived in Western Kurdistan through the Kurdistan Region “to attend the Kurdish National Conference.”

Western Kurdistan’s ruling Democratic Union Party (PYD) and opposition Kurdish National Council (ENKS/KNC) have agreed to hold an intra-Kurdish conference in Qamishli on Saturday, aiming to unify Kurdish ranks and collaborate on shaping the future of Kurds in Syria."

Fasla Yousef, a leadership member of the ENKS, told Rudaw on Thursday that all preparations for the conference have been completed."

“Around 300-400 people are expected to attend the conference,” she said, adding that more invitations are being sent to people.

“No one has been marginalized,” she stressed, noting that additional invitations are still being sent out.

When asked whether anyone from outside Western Kurdistan had been invited to the unprecedented event, she said she was not aware.

Kurds from areas under Damascus control have not been invited, “because we do not have strong ties with them. This is one of the weak points of the Kurdish political movement,” she explained.

Following the conference, the PYD and ENKS are expected to form a joint delegation to present a unified list of Kurdish demands.

Turkey Wants Full PKK Dissolution
    Not Just Disarmament: FM
Kurds Want Control of Their
    Traditional Homeland
Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has declared that the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) must completely dissolve its organisational presence within Turkey’s borders, stating that disarmament alone would not be sufficient to resolve the decades-long conflict

I suggest the removal of Turkish occupation forces from Kurdish land

In a televised interview on Friday, Fidan outlined Turkey’s position on the potential peace process, emphasising that armed conflict is no longer a viable approach and that political solutions through democratic means should be pursued instead.

“We expect the PKK to lay down its arms soon and make a decision to dissolve itself,” Fidan stated. :p

“The issue is not just about disarmament, but rather all PKK organisations within Turkey must cease to exist, and political work should be conducted in a transparent and open manner.”

Turkish occupation forces from Kurdish land must cease to exist

The Foreign Minister referenced recent statements from Turkish government via imprisoned PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan that armed struggle is no longer beneficial and that work should proceed through political and democratic channels.

On the issue of PKK presence beyond Turkey’s borders, Fidan indicated that the organization’s forces in Sinjar, Iraq and Syria would need to be addressed by those countries directly.

“This is an issue for Syria and Iraq to resolve,” he noted.

While acknowledging the difficulty of the decision facing the PKK, Fidan expressed cautious optimism.

“We are expecting a positive response from the organization,” he added.

The statement comes after the PKK announced that it held a congress from May 5-7 in two separate regions with representatives from various factions. During this meeting, participants reportedly studied and evaluated proposals put forward by the Turkish government through Ocalan.

Pervin Buldan, a member of the Imrali delegation that has previously visited Ocalan in prison, responded to these developments by stating: “After this announcement, Turkey enters a new phase.”

The potential disarmament of the PKK, which has been designated as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States, and the European Union, could mark a significant turning point in a conflict that has claimed more than 40,000 lives since 1984.

Turkish is a terrorist country and has been treating Kurds the same way Israel is treating Palestinians, killing THOUSANDS of the people, destroying their homes, lands, businesses, towns and villages, forcing them from their homeland X(

Sadly I have forgotten how many THOUSANDS of Kurds Turkey has KILLED in the past 100 YEARS

PKK Concludes Congress, Promises
Major Announcements Soon

The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) announced in a statement that it has successfully held its 12th congress and will disclose the outcomes in the near future

The group stated that it made important decisions in response to Turkish Government's recent call via Abdullah Ocalan and will soon announce the congress results.

According to the statement, the congress was held in two different regions from May 5 to 7, with the participation of representatives from all areas of the PKK’s struggle.

On February 27, 2025, the Turkish Government once again used jailed PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan to call on the PKK to convene a congress and disarm X(

The statement also highlighted the role of Sri Surya Onder in the preparations of the Congress, describing him as someone who had endured significant hardship. “He worked toward the goal of a democratic and peaceful society and was a friend of Abdullah Ocalan for 12 years,” the statement read.

On February 27, 2025, the Imrali delegation read Turkey's message in both Kurdish and Turkish at a press conference following a meeting with the imprisoned PKK leader.

Former Mardin Mayor Ahmet Türk read the message, stating that the PKK was formed when the path to democracy was blocked, and emphasized that the language of peace and democracy should now be promoted.

In another part of the message, Ocalan reportedly called on the PKK to lay down arms, dissolve itself, and convene a congress. He stated that he would take responsibility for the decision and guarantee peace negotiations
On Friday, May 9, 2025, PKK spokesperson Aysegul Dogan said at a press conference: “It is possible that the PKK will hold a congress whenever it announces.”

Meanwhile, a senior AKP source quoted by a pro-government Turkish newspaper said the PKK had already held its congress the previous week and decided to disband and lay down arms. The report also claimed that the PKK would soon formally announce the congress and that new legal steps are expected regarding the peace process.

Turkiye, PKK reach covert deal
    to end armed conflict
Independent Türkçe reveals secret deal between Turkiye and the PKK to end armed conflict, dissolve the group, and shift to political engagement

A report by Independent Türkçe has revealed the existence of an undisclosed agreement between the Turkish state and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), aimed at ending the decades-long armed conflict and transitioning the group entirely into legal political activity.

According to the report, the terms of the deal include the full cessation of both military and political confrontation by the PKK, the dissolution of the organization, and the enforcement of a complete ban on PKK-related activities across Turkiye, Iraq, Iran, and Syria. The agreement also outlines a process for disarmament to be coordinated by a joint committee, with the PKK’s presidential council overseeing its execution.

Newsat Çiçek, Editor-in-Chief of Independent Türkçe and author of the report, stated that Turkiye played a guarantor role in the conference where the initiative was formalized, alongside other mediating parties. He noted that the conference took place with the direct knowledge and supervision of Turkish state authorities.

One day prior to the conference, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan hinted at the developments, stating that “important news on this matter will be shared in the coming days.”

Deeper layer of talks

A critical element of the report involves the role of jailed Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan (who does exactly what the Turkish government tells him to do), who reportedly met with the PKK leadership ahead of the conference to relay Ankara’s proposal and provided a recorded video message that was broadcast during the event. According to the PKK’s internal rules, any such decisions must be ratified by Öcalan himself, who remains its historical leader.

Çiçek emphasized that the leaked details represent only a fraction of the broader and more detailed negotiations that took place between Ankara, Öcalan, and PKK officials based in the Qandil Mountains.

Sources close to the organization suggest that what has been made public constitutes less than 10% of the actual content, which includes precise stages for disarmament and the political future of the movement.

While there has been no official confirmation from the Turkish government or the PKK, the report has stirred widespread speculation over a potential shift in one of the most protracted and bloody conflicts in the region.

PKK, Turkiye agree on ceasefire

The PKK announced an immediate ceasefire in March, according to a news agency affiliated with the group, following a call by its jailed leader for disarmament.

The move marks a significant step toward ending the PKK’s four-decade-long insurgency against the Turkish state.

On Thursday, Öcalan was told to urge the PKK to lay down its arms and dissolve, a call that has received support from both President Tayyip Erdogan's government and the opposition anti-Kurdish DEM party.

If successful, the initiative could have far-reaching regional implications while bringing an end to a conflict that has claimed more than 40,000 lives since the PKK, now headquartered in the mountains of northern Iraq, launched its armed campaign in 1984.

It was a armed defense against Turkish occupation of Kurdish land and the slaughter of THOUSANDS of innocent Kurds

In its statement, the group expressed hope that Ankara would release Öcalan, who has been held in near-total isolation since 1999, so he could oversee the disarmament process.

      FREE KURDISTAN NOT OCALAN
SDF distinguishes self from PKK

While welcoming Ocalan’s appeal, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which Ankara considers an extension of the PKK, clarified that the call did not apply to them.

Turkiye has repeatedly urged the SDF’s armed wing to disarm since the fall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad last year, warning that failure to do so would result in military action.

Ocalan’s appeal, which was triggered by an unexpected proposal in October from an ultra-nationalist ally of Erdogan, has been welcomed by the United States, the European Union, and other Western allies, as well as by Turkiye’s neighbors, Iraq and Iran.

Since Ocalan's imprisonment, multiple efforts have been made to negotiate an end to the conflict. The most recent peace talks collapsed in 2015, and no further engagement took place until October 2023.

PKK: Disarmament Conditional
    on Ocalan’s Freedom
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) declared Tuesday that the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) will not proceed with disarmament unless Turkey takes serious legal steps to release its jailed leader, Abdullah Ocalan. The statement marks a renewed assertion of Ocalan’s central role in any future peace process

In a televised interview on May 27, Besê Hozat, co-chair of the KCK Executive Council, stated that the PKK’s disarmament cannot be implemented without a legally binding framework that ensures Ocalan’s full freedom and enables him to actively guide the peace process.

“There can be no meaningful disarmament or withdrawal process unless there is legal and judicial ground for Abdullah Ocalan to operate freely,” Hozat emphasized, describing the Turkish government’s approach as insincere. “The Turkish authorities are not serious; they are merely buying time.”

Conditions for Disarmament

Hozat stressed the necessity of constitutional reforms that recognize the rights and identity of all citizens. “Turkey needs a democratic constitution that embraces the identities of all its people,” she said.

She further warned that unless Ocalan is able to lead the process himself, the disarmament of the PKK would remain theoretical and unenforceable.

Her remarks come amid continued speculation about renewed dialogue and political recalibration in Ankara, but the KCK co-chair was clear: symbolic gestures will not suffice.

Turkish Government’s Response

Responding to the statement, Ömer Çelik, spokesperson for the ruling AK Party, reaffirmed the government’s position that all terrorist organizations must unconditionally lay down arms.

“We’ve made our position clear: these groups must completely disarm,” Çelik said in a statement to the press, reiterating Turkey’s stance on the PKK and affiliated organizations.

Çelik also indicated that discussions with Baghdad regarding the group’s activities inside Iraq remain ongoing. “We are maintaining close coordination with Baghdad, Erbil, and Sulaimani on several key issues,” he stated, hinting at recent progress in trilateral talks.

Dialogue or Stalemate?

While both Ankara and the PKK acknowledge that conditions in the region are shifting, fundamental disagreements remain over the process and prerequisites for peace. The Turkish side insists on unconditional demilitarization, while the KCK views Ocalan’s role as a non-negotiable component of any resolution.

With security and diplomatic dialogue continuing between Turkey and the Iraqi government, particularly on PKK activity within Iraq’s borders, the region watches closely to see whether the current political climate will create new openings — or further entrench the status quo.

Abdullah Ocalan has been imprisoned on İmralı Island since 1999. Despite being isolated for years, his political thought continues to shape the ideological framework of the PKK and its affiliates across the region.

The debate over Ocalan’s status remains one of the most contentious elements in the PKK-Turkish conflict. Both sides appear to be signaling readiness for dialogue — but remain locked in fundamentally different visions of peace.

The DEM is pro-Turkish NOT pro-Kurdish

We have been watching the DEM brain washing Kurds for years

Telling Kurds they only need a few more rights

Organizing protests/rallies to free Ocalan

but

NEVER ONCE did the mention freeing Kurdistan

Everyone knows the history of how Kurdish land was divided and the RAF bombed and shot Kurds who objected to their land being stolen and divided

We all know about the horrors inflicted on Kurds by the Turkish occupation forces

The slaughter of Kurds, the burning of Kurdish villages and farms making Kurdish villagers/farmers homeless, forcing them to live on the outskirts of cities

The frequent raids by the Turkish Occupation forces on Kurdish people's homes to see if could find anything Kurdish in their homes

Perhaps an old photo of a relation wearing Kurdish clothes, Kurdish music, anything written in Kurdish, all were punishable by imprisonment, rape, torture and even death

The Turkish Occupation force used to stop and search cars looking for anything Kurdish

Even now Kurdish families who live in Towns/Cities have the poorest living conditions and highest rate of illiteracy and unemployment

In order to provide for their families, young Kurdish men leave their families to seek employment it the tourist industry, where they are the lowest paid and worst treated

Schools teach children that the evil Kurds are stealing Turkish land

Islam is the only religion that is studied in schools and is forced on children

The brain of those innocent children is washed away from their Kurdish religions and they become Muslims

As Turkey becomes more Islamic bright colored Kurdish clothing will eventually be banned - if you do not believe that is possible just look at what happened in Iran

Islam forbids bright clothing, singing, dancing and everything else Kurds enjoy doing

The only way to protect Kurdish culture is for a FREE KURDISTAN

Every Kurd knows a friend or relation who has died to Keep Kurdish culture alive

VOTE FOR A FREE KURDISTAN

Ocalan and the Kurdistan issue

The illusions of the "democratic nation" and Ocalan's attitudes about the Kurdistan issue

Ocalan has a Marxist background. Ocalan adopted the theories of those thinkers, leaving the idea of liberation and unification of Kurdistan and establishing the State of Kurdistan, and launching the project "Democratic Nation", "Brotherhood of the Peoples" with a co-existence between Kurds and the occupying Turkish force

He also took claims that the time for a National Kurdish State has passed and that it is now the age of the Confederate state. Mr. Ocalan's parrots have penetrated into the brains his party members and washed them of any logic

We should know that the people of the Middle East are still living in the inferiority, tribal and sectarian stage, they are backward people, in which tribal, ethnic, religious and sectarian differences are rooted and they adopt violence and coercion against each other.

As strong national peoples work to eliminate the existence of weak and small peoples, the Middle East cannot be compared with civilized and advanced peoples, such as European peoples that have passed tribal, sectarian and sectarian phases, have succeeded in establishing a confederate system among them (the European Union). Thus, a confederacy cannot be established among the peoples of the Middle East now, nor in the coming hundreds of years.

Regarding the demise of the establishment of national states, national states still exist and national sentiment is strongly embedded in the peoples of the world, we do not mean racist national states. Kurdistanis are also not establishing a racist national state in the form of the Estonian occupied Kurdistan.

Kurds are fighting for the establishment of the Kurdistan State, on their traditional homeland. A state which embraces all its national, ethnic, religious and religious components. The equal rights that these components enjoy in the South Kurdistan Region are the best evidence of the integration of the Kurdish components and their organic association with their homeland, Kurdistan.

Ocalan supports the racist state of Turkey and defends its unity instead of fighting for the liberation of the Kurdish people and their homeless country, but he is fighting against the establishment of the Kurdistan State and therefore wants Kurdistan to remain occupied.

In his book (Seven Days with Apo "Apo"), which is a conversation he (Nabil El-Maleh) had with Ocalan, Ocalan says that "there is no Kurdish issue in Syria", thus denying the very existence of the West Kurdistan Region (West Kurdistan), where he was then living in Syria under the protection of Syrian intelligence.

After the liberation of South Kurdistan from the regime of Saddam Hussein and the establishment of the region in 1992, Ocalan described South Kurdistan as (a poisoned dagger in the back of the Arabs) !! During his trial, Oglan boasted that he helped Turkey prevent a Kurdistan state from establishing South Kurdistan
As Ocalan mentions on page 173 of his book (a turn on the path of democratic solution) as: We seek to protect Turkey from great dangers... We hope it will regain its former greatness and we will enter the capabilities of the Kurdistan Labor Party in the service of the Turkish Republic !!

Ocalan means in saying this that he hopes that the Turks will succeed in re-establishing the Ottoman Empire and recolonizing the peoples of the region and that he and his party will help the Turks realize their dream of establishing a new Turkish Empire like the Ottoman Empire !!

Anti-Kurdish party demands guarantee
for return of PKK fighters to Turkey

Turkey’s anti-Kurdish Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) on Thursday called on the Turkish parliament to ensure that those members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) who are willing to lay down weapons and return to Turkey will not face legal issues.

The Turkish parliament last Friday announced the establishment of the 51-member peace process commission on Friday. Its mandate is to provide the necessary legal and political frameworks for the disarmament of the PKK - a key step in the ongoing peace talks between the group and the Turkish state.

"The commission must take on a historic responsibility. Why do I call it historic? Because we are currently talking about Turkey’s democratic deficiency,” Aysegul Dogan, DEM Party spokesperson, told Rudaw.

Thirty PKK fighters laid down their arms in a ceremony in Kurdistan Region’s Sulaimani province on July 11.

“If they want to return to Turkey, if they want to engage in politics, how should they do so? If they want to study, how? Some of them left school and joined the armed struggle. And today they say, with their own free will and political leadership's call, they are ready to make a decision. If they want to return and rejoin civilian life, how can this be done? This commission must lay out the legal and political conditions for disarmament,” stated Dogan.

The multiparty commission is expected to include 21 members from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), ten from the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), and four each from the DEM Party and the far-right Nationalist Movement Party (MHP). Smaller parties will occupy the remaining seats.

The DEM Party spokesperson noted that the commission cannot make decisions but recommend them to the parliament.

"This commission cannot legislate on its own, because the Turkish parliament would not [allow that]. But the commission can make legal recommendations and refer them to the relevant parliamentary bodies. After those recommendations are made, they can be discussed in Turkey’s general assembly, debated, and potentially passed into law. That is our hope,” she stated.

Evidence of Turkish lying promises
    to the people of Kurdistan
If Turkey were sincere in its desire to reconcile with the Kurds of Northern Kurdistan and to recognize Kurdish rights there and it would not have worried about its national security from the people of Kurdistan to enjoy their rights.

Turkey's attempt to eliminate the self-administration of Western Kurdistan, for example, is a clear evidence that it is trying to deceive the Kurdistan people. Due to the difficult circumstances that Turkey is going through, the project of redrawing the map of the Middle East, which includes the birth of the state of Kurdistan in the region, has emerged. Yet another example of the Turkish false promises to the people of Kurdistan.

The cooperation of the Turkish and Iranian regimes in their attempt to pressure the Iraqi Shiite government to abolish federalism in Iraq, i.e. the cancellation of the Kurdistan rule in the South Kurdistan Region and returning the region to mere governorates as other Iraqi governorates by cutting the salaries of the region employees and blowing up oil wells

The goal of trying to abolish the federal system in Iraq is to prevent the Kurd of the other Kurdistan regions from establishing a federal system in both Turkey, Iran and Syria, and also to fail the project of redrawing the map of the Middle East, which both America and Israel are planning to implement, and that is by canceling the colonial Sykes-Picot agreement that destroyed the people of the region.

The Middle East and it has entered it into bloody wars and destructive since the agreement was signed until now, and the redraw of the political map of the region, in order to achieve its people, including the people of Kurdistan, its freedom and the construction of their political entities, and the people of the region live in peace and cooperation to create democratic political systems that build their countries and are followed by developed countries and achieve social justice and welfare of its people.

Therefore the Kurds must not be fooled by Turkish false promises, they promised before. Which was just a tactic to overcome the difficult conditions that the Turks were facing and after overcoming their difficulties, they will kill the Kurds, deport them to the Turkish territories and distribute their property to the Turks and settle the Turks in their villages, towns and cities.

Kurdistan - the last brutalized colony!

Over 100 nations in the world have freed themselves from colonialism.

They are governed today by their own population, with their own languages, flags and parliament.

Kurdistan is something completely different.

Ocalan has no idea what is happening in the world, he is just a mouthpiece for the Turkish government

The DEM party, rather than tell the Kurdish people how wonderful it is so many nations have gained freedom
has kept this information from Kurds and brainwashed them into believing they cannot have their country back

    It's not just colonized - it's occupied
Four states - Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria - divide the country, prohibit the language, prohibit the culture, prohibit the flag, prohibit the music and songs and have a heavy military presence on Kurdish land

This is direct control with soldiers, prisons, bombs and executive power - in the midst of sometimes a people who have never been allowed to control themselves.

Kurdistan is not just the forgotten colony.

Kurdistan is the last brutalised colony in the world

Kurds in occupied Northern Kurdistan
URGENTLY
need a leader who will point out the similarities between

    the Turkish genocide of Kurds
    and
    the Israeli genocide of Palestinians
It is time for Kurds to WAKE UP:

UK is set to recognize Palestine
France is set to recognize Palestine
Canada is set to recognize Palestine
Sadly Kurdistan has been ignored and forgotten

Kurds are living under constant treats from Turkish occupational army while being brainwashed into submission by an ANTI - KURDISH political party

Murat Karayılan, has reiterated that the group has followed the directives of its jailed leader Abdullah Ocalan by officially ending the armed struggle, but accused Turkey of failing to reciprocate by implementing its own leadership’s calls for peace

In an interview with a PKK-affiliated media outlet, Karayılan revealed that earlier this year, a group of 30 PKK members in Sulaymaniyah province ceremonially burned their weapons, marking a significant shift in the movement’s strategy.

“For our movement, this ceremony means that the strategy of armed struggle has officially and practically come to an end,” he said.

REMINDER: This self-same ceremony took place several years ago and what happened NOTHING. Did Turkey stop attacking Kurdish villages NO. Did Turkey give equal rights to Kurds NO. Has Turkey moved it's occupation force from Kurdish land NO
Karayılan criticized Turkey for not following through on the calls from Devlet Bahceli, leader of the Turkish nationalist MHP party, emphasizing that progress on the peace process requires reciprocal actions.

He highlighted the release of Ocalan as a crucial step toward building trust and achieving lasting peace.

He highlighted the release of Ocalan as a crucial step toward building trust and achieving lasting peace.

“For trust to be established, Ocalan must certainly be freed. Not only should he leave Imrali, but he must be able to visit anywhere,” Karayılan stated.

He expressed willingness to continue disarmament ceremonies if Turkey takes serious steps toward the peace process, welcoming the recent establishment of a commission to address the Kurdish issue.

The Kurdish issue = Turks are on STOLEN Kurdish land
“The Kurdish issue is an issue for all of Turkey and a century-long issue,” he said, urging that the PKK’s views be taken into consideration in any negotiations.

Karayılan underscored that without the release of Ocalan, peace will remain elusive.

He also emphasized the importance of the Kurdish people to Turkey’s democratic development and regional role.

“In order for Turkey to advance as a democratic country in the Middle East and play its major role, it needs the Kurds. Without the Kurdish people, they cannot do this.”
