How old is Yezidism

Some Kurds say all Kurds were Yezidi's before the rise of Islam. Did Yezidism even exist then?? (Ezidism).

Yes, origins in a spiritual context (and in practice) were prior to Islam. Many ancient Kurdish tribes held a number of sects in what would generally be referred to as part of the Yizîdî religion as it is today. Yizîdîsm in contrast to it's rival, Zoraostrianism.

Before Islam, Kurds were mostly zoroastrian, manichean, Mithra 's believer, perhaps Jewish, and some could be Christians. Yezidism appeared in 12th century as a fusion between ancient religions and a sufi order, the 'Adawiya.

Lalish is our proof that our religions is even older than Christianity and maybe Judaism!

Bullsh*t, our Yezidi holy place Lalish is much older than Islam. Sheikh Adi only reformed our religion in 12th century. Like there was first catholic church than after some reforms came Protestant church and before catholic church there were ancient and older churches…

Same thing happened to Yezidism, our religion is just reformed in 12th century.

Before Zoroaster became the prophet of a new religion, he was either a Yezidi or belonged to Yezidism.

Like I said, spiritually and in practice, before Islam. The name as it is today may have appeared later, but the practice of the religion long before that.

Believe it or not, our sheiks are even saying that Ka’aba in Mekka is build by us “Yezidi” Kurds. Kaaba was build by ancient people of Kurdistan! One thing is for sure Muslims did't build Kaaba! Kaaba was build before Islam! Even Hindus are saying that we’re right and saying that Kaaba is a Zoroastrian temple.

I think Kaaba is not Zoroastrian temple but Yezidi temple...

It’s hard to believe, but it’s true. Explain me than why Lalish was built before Islam? How it’s possible if Yezidism is younger than Islam! Who built Ka'aba? When Kurds built Ka'aba nobody lived there. We didn't stayed there because it was to hot for us in the desert.

You and other European know nothing about us and they will never understand us.

If you want I can give you titles and ISBN of the books where is written about connections between the Kurds and Ka'aba.

I am sure that pre-islamic religiosn were still active among Kurdish tribes and that they twisted the 'Adawiyya confrery of course. But I doubt that Yezidism has influenced ALL the religions in the world....

I think that the first basic and universal religion in the world is shamanism and that all current religions keep traces of it.

Sure I’m not saying that we invented religion. But we were the first 1 who started to believe in 1 GOD. Before us nobody believed in 1 GOD, but in many GODS. We were the first monotheists. We were before Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Oldest existed Buddha books are written in Sanskrit. It’s a fact! Ancient Zoroastrian books were also written in Sanskrit. Zoroastrianism influenced Buddhism and many other religions of India.
So since Yezidism influenced Zoroastrianism it also indirect influenced Buddhism.

If Mesopotamia is craddle of civilisation for Western ppl (but not for India nor China, nor Egypt) Medes are nothing to do with it. They came very late and had never written anything in their own language. They use in thei official writing aramaic (a semitic language !). Then what Medes could have taught to European, as we are closed cousin and coming from the same Kurgan culture ? Some other Indo-European empire were more ancient and more brilliant (as Hittits, for example), but YOU ?

What is the cultural bright trophee of Medes ?
