the reality is that kurdish is not a language with dialects, its a group of languages with root in proto-kurdish. (like low-german and high-german languages)yes, zazakì is more archaic in phonology than soranî and kurmancî and its not persian influeced like kurmanci and sorani. But there are many tinny/little languages as shabaki and sheyxbizeyni. Example sheyxbizeyni is phonological similar to zazaki and gramatical mix of kurmanci and sorani.

Re: Dimilí (Zazaki )dialects of Kurdish language

KurdishAryanSoccer wrote:Dimilí dialects of Kurdish language

To the far north of Kurdistan along the upper courses of the Euphrates, Kizilirmaq, and Murat rivers in Turkey, the Dimilí branch of Kurdish language (less accurately but more commonly known as Zâza) is spoken by about 4.5 million (data from late 80's) Dimilí Kurds, (See the map). The larger cities of Darsim (now Tunçeli), Chapakhchur (now Bingol), and Siverek, and a large proportion of the Kurds of Bitlis, are Dimilí-speaking. There are also smaller pockets of this language spoken in various corners of Anatolia from Adiysman to Malatya (Melatye) and Maras (Meres), in Southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq, where the speakers are known as the Shebeks) and North Esatern Kurdistan (northwest Iran, the tribes of Dumbuli and some of the Zerzas) as well. The language seems in late classical and early medieval times to have been more or less spoken in all the area now covered by Northern Kurdish Dilects group in contiguous Kurdistan. Its domain also stretched west into Pontus, Cappadocia, and Cilicia, before a sustained period of assimilation and deportations obliterated the Kurdish presence in the area in the Byzantine period. The Dimilí further retreated from its former eastern domains to its present limited one under pressure from the advancing Northern Kurdish Dilects group speaking pastoralist Kurds. This loss of ground, which started at the beginning of the 16th century, continues to this day. Image

Dimilí is closely related to Hewramí (Hawramani, Ewramani), a relationship indicative of a time when a single form of Pahlawâni was spoken throughout much of Kurdistan, when after the late classical period, Kurdistan was homogenized through massive internal migrations. At that time the domain of the Pahlawâni language was uninterrupted across Kurdistan. The main bodies of Dimilí- and Hewramí-speaking Kurds are now at the extreme opposite ends of Kurdistan.

Major dialects of Dimilí are Sívirikí, Korí, Hezzú (or Hezo), Motkí (or Motí), and Dumbulí. The dialect of Galishí now spoken in the highlands of Gilan on the Caspian Sea may be a distant offshoot of Dimilí as well, brought here by the migrating medieval Daylamites from western and northern Kurdistan.

Dimilí has served as the prime language of the sacred scriptures of the Alevis, but not the exclusive one. Despite this, not much written material survives to give an indication of the older forms of Dimilí and its evolution. The documents come from rather unexpected sources: the early medieval Islamic histories. Ibn Isfandiyar in his history of Tabaristan, for example, preserves passages in the language of the Daylamite settlers of this Caspian Sea district, which resembles modern Dimilí.

A sympathetic summary that neither fears a lack of monolithic entity nor delegitimises Kurdish nationalism. But may I posit: Just as a Standard German was formed by German linguists, could not a standard Kurdish based on the most pure/conservative elements of Soranî and Kurmancî be formed now? Because this is something I have been considering for some time. Of course, it's probably not wise to switch over until Kurmancî has some sort of protected official status within the Turkish state, otherwise we run the risk of alienating so-called "moderate" Kurds.

KurdishAryanSoccer wrote:can someone close this idiotic toPic ?

Why? It actually seems kind of offensive to Zaza people to close a topic on them. Aren't they worthy of discussion? But there's no asking you to be reasonable. Even Kulka never suggested banning me. What is my crime? Insulting Kurdishness? Don't resemble the Kemalists too much, or you'll wind up proving Hamit Bozarslan right: http://books.google.com.tr/books?id=qwBdLcnlu_oC&lpg=PA17&ots=Lpf6dNZFMC&dq=hamit%20bozarslan%20%22why%20the%20armed%20struggle%22&pg=PA17#v=onepage&q=hamit%20bozarslan%20%22why%20the%20armed%20struggle%22&f=false

Meanwhile, back in the real world, here is a site I recently discovered: http://dersiminfo.com/ Of course, as someone who has not studied Zazaki (and indeed, my Kurmancî is weak), I have to rely on the Turkish site: http://tr.dersiminfo.com/

They also have a dictionary of sorts: http://dersiminfo.com/ferheng/

 As if there can't be Zaza people as a kind of Kurd, or as if Zaza people not being Kurds (which they are so long as they say they are, it is their choice, not mine or anyone else's) would help "the Arabs" in any way. You are so sad.

Did you read the Hamit Bozarslan I linked to, by the way? Or any of my other links? Do you show up here just to repost the same thing over and over again, or are you actually curious to hear why people might not have the same monolithic worldview as you?

Disclaimer: I am not at all implying the Kurdish flag stands for the kind of evil the Nazi regime stood for. On the contrary, the Kurdish flag is one of the most beautiful in the region and one which I hope to see flying freely in Anatolia one day. I am implying a fascistic close-mindedness toward "dissenters" and "enemies" by our ban-friendly friend here, who I suspect may not even be a Kurd, but a racist Turk pretending to be a Kurd to harm the image of the freedom-loving Kurdish people.

Kulka never suggest to ban anyone, coz Kulka prefer to fight (if there is a need), than to win with no fighting

Kaka Kurdish - people who speak zazaki are Kurds and nobody deny it. and i think - whatever - kurdayati is in heart more than in language. so even if someone dont speak any kurdish language, but love Kurdistan and consider Kurdistan as his one and only country - is Kurd.

@thearabchildren - i really dont think any turk who hates Kurds will even say - Biji PKK - even for a purpose
