Ey Raqib

PostAuthor: Kulka » Fri Sep 23, 2011 8:45 am

Ok, guys - before i will ask a question let me to introduce the topic.
Last month i went to London for PJAK demonstration against Iran. After demonstration in front of iranian ambassy, we also went to iraqi ambassy - why not, if we already went to London :D . At the iraqi amabassy we sing "Ey Raqib" - lets say, "we", but in fact i was more than ashamed as i knew only few words... :) - but i was proud coz PJAK people knew the entire anthem and singing very nice. As soon as i went back home - i learned, once and forever. Two weeks later i went to London again to another demonstration - organized by kurdish community, in front of donkey ambassy (the one with red flag). I am proud to say that i was the only one who knows all "Ey Raqib" - trust me, nobody could sing all the anthem. Later on me and the other guy appealed on facebook to kurdish people to learn it. I also asked my great brothers at work - few of them, if they know the text. [-( - no chance.

So my question here is - do you know the entire text of "Ey Raqib" (no matter which of kurdish languages)? - But please if you wish to give the answer - be honest (or dont answer at all, i dont force anyone). And second request is - if you dont know - please learn :D

So if at least 10% of you organize a demonstration - it would be pretty good one :D - and i will be glad to come and support.

The thing with most Kurds here, is were either very young or very old. I'm 17, still a student, alot of kurdish shopkeepers wouldn't mind organsizing in the weekend, but of course their really busy on weekdays. We do get regular protests from a few kurdish families, but its like less than 500 people show up. Its also not always directed in the center, so the effectiveness weakens.

When i am coming to London, sometimes there is only 50 ( maybe even less) people on demonstration - but its still worth to do that, coz its for Kurdistan. And by the way - if you know about any event like that, please post it here, coz i am interested in any information like that.
Sometimes i cant go to London, coz i get the info one day before the demonstration and i am not able to get day off from work in such a short time. So its important for me to know a few days before. I am working nightshifts start wednesday evening and finished sunday morning - so for fiday-saturday demonstrations i need to take day off, as i am not able to be back home from London to be at work on time.

I don't know any coming up yet, but there is a kurdish/pkk center right next to my house. Kurds gather here. I'm abit busy so I only go a few times. Its in stoke newington and harringay.

Kurdish community center is in stoke newington, right next to aziz mosque. Mare street road, jsut go on google earth. There was a protest just now. Pretty big, around 200 people showed up. Lol it always feel awkard though, because there are turkish shops here, and the Turks always just stare, but they don't say anything.

Thats the problem with all of us - if anyone wants to get information about any demonstration its like mission impossible - few days after we can watch the video on you tube. There should be any way that the info like that could be given for public. And - for a God sake - give the people some time to sort out things like holidays from work.
It wwas so many demonstrations in UK which i havent been. I am also very sorry i didnt went to London yesterday, really very upset about it. But i couldnt do anything within one day and also the job i am doing in my factory is skilled one and they have to find someone to cover me, when i want day off, which needs time as well.
Kurdish organization - Chatri Azadi, that also organize demonstrations even doesnt have its website, i am in personal contact with its activist Houzan Mahmoud, so its the only way for me to be informed. But i am also looking for contact with activists from PKK Center in London and Kurdish community in Nottingham.

WOW! Great!

But to be honest about kurmandji version - i know it in a little bit different way - can anyone explain why:

Ey reqîb her, maye qewmê Kurd ziman
Nashikê û danayê bi topê zeman
Kes nebê Kurd dimirin, Kurd jîn dibin
Jîn dibin qet nakevê ala Kurdan
Em xortên rengê sor û shoreshin
Seyr bike xwîna rîyan me da rijand
Kes nebê Kurd dimirin, Kurd jîn dibin
Jîn dibin qet nakevê ala Kurdan
Em xortên Mîdya û Keyxusrewîn
Dîn îman u ayîman, her nishtîman
Kes nebê Kurd dimirin, Kurd jîn dibin
Jîn dibin qet nakevê ala Kurdan
Çend hezar lawanî kurdî nere shêr
Bûn be qurbanî hemûyan nêjiran
Kes nebê Kurd dimirin, Kurd jîn dibin
Jîn dibin qet nakevê ala Kurdan
Lawê Kurd rabûye ser pê wek shêran
Ta bi xwîn nexshîn bike tacê jîyan
Kes nebê Kurd dimirin, Kurd jîn dibin
Jîn dibin qet nakevê ala Kurdan
Xortê Kurd tev hazir û amadene
Canfîdane, canfîdane, her canfîda
