anyways it did not work we have 4 supermajors in that is it, let gorran leadership and spokesmen spread false news , everyone knows they are only "noises" and propaganda to get popular and more support , but rest assured that is as good as it will get, even some of them gorran guys know this, i have seem then admit it on fb.

Agree, Gorran should focus on corruption and act as opposition. This does not mean undermining KRG independence in oil policy or making false claims that our enemies will use as propaganda.

He basically told milky and his group that Kurdistan has a constitutional right to sign its own oil deals, KRG has an oil and gas law passed in Kurdistan parliament in 2007. (iraq still uses saddam/baathies oil law btw).

Kurds Reject Baghdad's Claim that ExxonMobil has Halted Projects in Kurdistan

Image

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — ExxonMobil, the world’s largest publicly owned oil and gas company, has recently acquired drilling permits from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

In a very short span of time, this has substantially increased the oil output of the Kurdistan Region.

However, the central government claims these permits are illegal as there still is no law on how the revenues are to be distributed. Thus, Baghdad has demanded the contracts be annulled and that foreign enterprises withdraw.

The office of Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Hussain Shahristani stated this week that ExxonMobil had halted all projects with the KRG and would retreat from the region as the contracts had been signed without notice to Baghdad. ExxonMobil contradicted this statement by announcing that the Iraqi government had been informed and work would continue.

Tensions between ExxonMobil and Baghdad reached the point that the Iraqi Ministry of Oil sent a complaint to the U.S. government, which as of yet has not proved successful.

Currently, ExxonMobil is active in six locations in the Kurdistan Region. It was the first large oil company to invest in the region, followed by Chevron.

The KRG has issued as many as 50 drilling licenses, all deemed illegal by the central government. Currently, capacity is at 100,000 barrels a day, but is expected to become as high as a million within the next few years as experts estimate the extent of the resources in the region’s soil.

In an interview with Rudaw, geologist Dr. Iamar Xnsi said that there are an estimated 45 billion barrels of oil in the Kurdish territories, accounting for almost 4.5 percent of the earth’s oil resources, which is twice as much as those in the USA.

Wait a minute since when did Shahristani became Iraqi dictator? No person have that much power, in the next election we kurds should not support neither shia nor sunni. We shall see themselves fight over power and leave a power vaccum, we will see when this Iranian agent crawl to the kurds begging for support. They will not get support unless they implement all promises they made for this current mandate. Iraq will fall apart with a "sunni spring" while we declare independence against the wishes of the imperial supporter - Denise Natali.

An MP on KBC calls shahrstani a "trouble maker"

PostAuthor: alan131210 » Sun Aug 19, 2012 10:51 pm

PNA - Azad Abu bakir an MP on kurdistani list announced that shahristani has nothing else to do, he does not care about the undeveloped parts of Iraq, doesnt care about providing electricity to iraqis, jobless people are everywhere yet he comes and releases anti KRG rhetorics which are baseless.

He added "now is not the time to talk about reducing the budget of KRG for two reasons one all fractions are calming down and negotiations are on there way to settle the differences second back then when 17% was allocated for Kurdistan budget it was done by the help of the coalition until a census is held and since it hasn't legally speaking no one has the right to speak about reducing or increasing Kurdistan budget"

"He is just a trouble causer and can't stand the way Kurdistan has developed and progressed that's all it is" he stated.

Total signs new Kurdish deal, shrugs off Baghdad threats

PostAuthor: hevalo27 » Mon Aug 20, 2012 3:13 pm

nice move total

French oil major Total has bought a minority share in an exploration block in Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan region, ignoring threats from the central government in Baghdad made after a similar deal last month.

Total followed U.S. oil majors Exxon and Chevron last month in disregarding Baghdad's warnings about possible punitive action and signing contracts with the country's Kurdistan region directly.

Canada's ShaMaran Petroleum Corp said on Monday a unit of the French company had paid $48 million for a 20 percent stake in the Taza exploration block in the Kurdish province of Suleimaniya in northern Iraq.

The exploration well is operated by Papua New Guinea's Oil Search, which has 60 percent of the contract. The Kurdish Regional Government (KRG), based in Erbil, owns the remaining 20 percent, ShaMaran said in a statement.

In July, the French major bought a 35 percent stake in the Harir and Safen exploration blocks in Kurdistan, where crude reserves are plentiful and contract terms more attractive than in the southern part of the country.

The move drew an angry response from Iraqi authorities, who warned Total, which has an 18.75 percent stake in the Halfaya oilfield in the southern Missan province, that it would be forced to sell it if it did not cancel or freeze deals with Kurdistan.

The petroleum deals are worsening already tense ties between Baghdad and Iraqi Kurdistan, autonomous since 1991, in their long-running dispute over land and oil rights.

Total could not immediately respond to a request for comment.

DNO oil exports from Kurdistan reach 40,000 bpd

PostAuthor: alan131210 » Mon Aug 20, 2012 5:30 pm

Norwegian oil and gas group DNO International says its share of oil exports from the Kurdistan region of Iraq has averaged of 40,000 barrels per day since start-up 10 days ago.

And the company says it will continue to deliver these volumes at least until the first week of September as requested by the Kurdistan Regional Government.

DNO International is also nearing completion of its obligation to the KRG under a previously disclosed protocol to reconcile past accounts and commence application of the fiscal terms and conditions of the existing production sharing contract covering the Tawke licence as from 1 June 2012.

To meet this obligation, DNO International allocated its share of Tawke production to the KRG for local consumption during June, July and part of August.

The reconciliation calculation does not include current exports nor volumes exported in 2009, 2011 and 2012 for which payments remain outstanding.
